Just curious why people cannot order more potions and phials via the order system. I have guildies who still have to mail me stuff for regular potions of power, for example.
The same is true for enchants. I assumed they created “Guild orders” for the purpose of being able to leave orders for guildies to fill from the shared guild mats. But this is apparently not what they had in mind?
The issue is that the recipes are not available to make orders for. Like for a JC you can put an order in for every gem but for alchemists you can only put in a small handful of orders for consumables.
Ah, I think it’s due to them not being BoP is why, the crafting order system is mainly for making BoP items. Little bit of an oversight if this is the case IMO, as I vaguely also remember having a limited selection of items to make.
It just seems unfortunate that they have this nice order system and we have a guild vault full of mats but people have to still count out the mats and email me to get a flask.
why? it is cheaper if you do a direct trade for things - you like wasting gold on things you don’t have to (well I guess it would be them wasting the gold for your convenience I guess)?
The guild bank is full of mats. It’s cheaper and easier for them to just put in an order without mats and I can fill it. I assumed they created a “guild order” system for just this purpose. But it’s not really useable.
I think the OP is talking about guild orders, not public, but what usually happens with me for larger quantities is that someone who can fill the public order sees them and messages me for personal orders. I’ve even taken to just posting one public order with a note that additional personal orders can be forthcoming. Works out nice.
What I’m saying is if you click on alchemy recipes in the order system (public/guild/personal) Only a very few recipes are available to to place orders for.
You cannot place orders for healing or mana pots
You cannot place orders for most phials, there are only 4 or so and 3 are the BOP ones
You cannot place orders for most potions, like elemental potion of power. You can only place an order for “ultimate potion of elemental power”
The work order system is for BoP stuff. The entire purpose of Dragonflight crafting is to use your BoP mats to make stuff, even if you don’t have the relevant profession.
There are a handful of BoE things doable through work orders, but they probably shouldn’t be there since they just confuse people such as yourself.
The entire purpose of the profession revamp was so Blizzard could address this question: “How do we drop BoP materials in M+ dungeons and let people make high-end gear out of it, even if they don’t have the relevant profession?”
The answer is the work order system. Everything else flows from that.
I’ll believe that when I can place work orders for old transmogs like blue dragonscale gear via work orders instead of spending weeks in trade chat trying to find someone with the recipe.
