Why are the rewards for reputation after exalted so measly?

There’s not much of an incentive to grind out additional rep after you get Exalted it appears? Conversely how can there be an achievement for getting to exalted with 100 factions? How is that even possible?

Because people whined about paragon rewards being too grindy so now there’s barely any.

The gold is still nice though.

Lots of grinding lol. It was possible even pre-BfA. Doing it on a human definitely helps.

You can look at my profile if you want an idea of some reps you might have missed, though I got a lot of them on my human paladin too:

Like it or not, this is 100% true.
This is why I don’t get worked up over some maw dailies. I just play the game whenever I want

I mean those Legion paragon mounts were rough, I’m not gonna lie. But they motivated me to set up a whole system of alts funneling rep tokens from mission tables to my human, who would wait for Darkmoon to be up for that extra 10% rep and just unload all of the tokens at once.

It was immensely satisfying to finally get that stupid flying carpet.

I am glad I still have a reason to go back and do Legion stuff, even if I get frustrated that none of my alts have gotten them cloudwing hippo.

And it does get frustrating lol
But you can’t win em all.

I say this not to upset you but to highlight how silly RNG is: I threw away literally six of those things. I just kept getting them. And not the carpet :sob:

I liked those as well and a big part of that is because it gave me a reason to play alts. I wouldn’t have been all that fond of the paragon caches if I only played one character but then those people probably skip a lot of RNG drops.

Carpet was the last one for me as well. I finally got all paragon mounts from all caches in all expansions up to SL.

Legion was fantastic for altoholics. The table bringing in mass amounts of money, the twelve different class storylines, it was a great time.

I never thought I’d see the day when people here were defending Legion paragon mounts. They were pretty commonly despised when they were introduced since the tradition before was that simply reaching Exalted made faction mounts purchasable at the faction Quartermaster. I’ve increased my rep grinding lately, but I’m pretty sure that I still don’t have any to this day other than the Suramar fox.

I have a tinfoil hat theory that there is a hidden counter for the Legion paragon mounts. The system keeps track of how many you have. When you’re down to only one left, the drop rate for the one you’re missing plummets to something abysmally low. I have no proof of this–I’m just basing it off all the anecdotal reports of how many dozens or hundreds of paragon caches it takes to get the very last one. :scream:

Because casual players cannot be more than 50% of the power of the Mythic players.

i got a mount out of my 1st stormheim paragon box. i got whispered tons of salt. lol. still have no idea what the rest of the stuff could be. got a toy out of my 1st honorbound one too. never got anything else from it. dunno what else there was.

ignored the thingy you did in suramar with the withered dudes almost all expansion. did it once just to have done it and i got some quest for the fox. weird thing.

probably cause they want to do what they did in legion. make people farm rep for reward boxes and then call that “content” when its basically just RNG bs and mostly for mounts.

TBF, those ilvl 200 pieces from the rep vendors were pretty nice at the start of the expansion.

I have no proof either but the Court of Farondis mount was the last one missing…it took me about 50-100 paragon caches on 4-5 different characters, finally got it last week. I hadn’t been trying EVERY week, I would do it on and off, I took the opportunity that I had banked a lot of rep tokens and Darkmoon Faire was up. Would have MUCH preferred slamming down some bloods of sargeras, or another 150 curious coins (crazy to me that I got that war turtle pretty early on in the expansion) or just 30k gold, I dunno, something.

But yeah, the main faction rewards are whatever. I haven’t checked to see what the Court minigame offers, but The Avowed is pretty good ( honored is kind of a must if you’re an alchemist), and Marasmius and the Stitchmasters are easy to work up to…now to just accumulate all the anima…

I think some/all of them had a few toys or other things too?

I dunno, I just kept doing it until All The Things told me I didn’t have to anymore. That addon is a blessing and a curse lol

does wowhead have a thing? i only did it when there were good WQ i was getting gear/marks of honor from. or i realized i was 200 rep from one for gold. lol. i had an honorbound and turtle one and army of light for a while i didn’t realize i had. cuz the stuff didn’t interest me. but wife wants to turn me into a collector. XD

tbf, the alternative is to go back to the system pre Legion where hitting exalted is the end of it. So continuing to do dailies etc for that faction is a waste of time unless they give an actual reward like player power. For example, MoP dailies giving Valor points during MoP. Unfortunately, a lot of people complained that they were being “forced” to do dailies because they rewarded Valor (even though there were better ways of gaining Valor). Paragon chests only provide cosemtic rewards in Shadowlands. So if you are not interested in cosemtic rewards there is no agency to grind them out. Unlike previous expansions (i.e. Legion and BFA) where you got artifact / azerite power from them. Which links to my player power point above.

How is this a question? The answer is obvious.

Each expansion introduced quite a few reputations and currently only a few reps have been “removed” from the game (by removed I mean no longer possible to get rep from them).

The following reps count towards the 100 rep achievement (note, getting the same rep exalted on 2 or more characters only counts as 1).

Faction specific reps that have a counterpart (only one per faction counts, so you can’t double up), so that is;

Playerable race reps
Stormwind / Orgrimmar
Ironforge / Thunderbluff
Darnassus / Undercity
Gnomegan / Darkspear Trolls
Exodar / Silvermoon City
Gilneas / Bildgewater Cartel
Alliance Pandas / Horde Pandas

Vanilla BG’s
Silverwing Sentinels / Warsong Outriders
League of Arathor / Defilers
Stormpike Clan / Frostwolf Clan

TBC
Honor Hold / Thrallmar
Kurenai / The Mag’har

Wrath reps
Alliance Vanguard / Horde Expedition
Explorer’s league / Hand of vengence
The frostborn / The Taunka
Valiance Expedition / Warsong offensive
Silver Covenant / Sunreavers

Cata reps
Wildhammer clan / Dragonmaw Clan
Baradin’s Wardens / Hellscream’s Reach

MoP
Kirin Tor offensive / Sunreaver onslaught
Operation Shieldwall / Dominance Offensive
Pearlfin Jinyu / Forest Hozen

WoD
Wyrnn’s Vanguard / Vol’jins Spear. I believe you can only get this rep via classic ashran brawl now
Hand of the Prophet / Vol’jins headhunters
Council of Exarchs / Frostwolf Orcs (WoD)
Sha’tari defense / Laughing Skull Clan

BFA
Waveblade Ankoan / The Unshackled
7th Legion / Honorbound
Storm’s wake / Talanji’s Expedition
Order of Embers / Voldunai
Proundmoore Admiralty / Zandalar Empire

The following faction specific reps do not have a counterpart so they both count to the achievement
Wintersaber Trainers (Alliance only)
Tranquillen (horde only)

For Neutral reps there is no limitation (other than it only counting once per b.net account) except for the following reps
Aldor / Scyers
Oracles / Frenzyheart
Ravenholdt / Syndicate (you can’t get exalted with the Syndicate so there is no point gaining rep with them anyway)

It is impossible to get exalted with both entries in these pairs on the same character. Therefore only one of these per pair count. It is possible to get exalted with Bloodsail Buccaneers and be exalted with the Steamweddle Cartel Reps on the same character, so that pair does count. (get Bloodsail to exalted then go to Taranis and kill pirates there)

The following reps are now impossible to get exalted anymore as they got “removed”

Zandalar Tribe (Vanilla ZG rep, got removed in Cata)
Shen’dralar (got removed in Cata)

If you are exalted with them however they still count.

There were 2 reps that got hard removed though. So even if did get them to exalted they no longer count.
Vanilla Wildhammer clan (removed in TBC launch)
Revantusk Tribe (got removed in patch 1.11)
