Why are the keyholders punished in mythic pluses and not the ones who ruin them?

I have had many 10+'s ruined by bad tanks or healers and then they would drop group and ruin my key making me have to rework for it.

I was helping a guildy out today we had a bad healer who left on a +4 and ruined the key at the final boss.

Why don’t they lock out the person who ruined the key for a week? make them wait an entire week before doing another mythic instead they punish the keyholder. it isn’t the keyholders fault if a player decides to run off or mess up or bought their carries and has a high raider io and doesn’t know how to play. so why should the keyholder be punished and the bad player get away scotch free able to join another group instantly and ruin theirs etc.

In bg’s if you go afk or leave you are locked out for 30 minutes, if you drop a dungeon group after joining you are locked out for an hour. but absolutely nothing happens with people who ruin other peoples keys. but instead the key holder is punished. this is kind of bs.

I pugged a key from +2 all the way to a +13 today spent hours doing it and had to redo the +11 key twice because two people decided to drop group after they messed up. and it knocked me back down to a +10 and i had to reup it. it ticked me off that I got punished for their mess up.

The way she goes Ricky.

what happens in M+ stays in M+. who really cares, toxic content for toxic people. not all, but most.

If you are always running into “bad” tanks and healers… maybe the problem lies elsewhere

yep totally.

It’s a team game. Stop thinking with “my key” mentality.

It’s our key.

Also depleting keys is not a big deal. Everyone depleted keys.

It is a big deal when you’re trying to gear up and you need higher keys than a 10 or 12 and need into the 15’s+

Happens. You’re not gonna time every single run ever. Just run it back or complete it.

M+ isn’t supposed to be PuG friendly, the only reason it is is due to IO screening (and even that isn’t perfect since some people semmingly manage to fumble their way to 4k IO).

Its exponentially more fun to run keys with friends/gmates.

For something that is made by the keyholder and or the person making the group, its hard to implement a lockout type system considering it is not matchmade to punish someone who ruined you key.

Because no one else has a key in play to downgrade? Are you serious?

I think a lot of people who complain about failed keys don’t quite get just how many keys even groups that run together all the time deplete.

That said, organized groups are typically going to have a better completion rate than trying to pug a full group out of LFG.

the logical takeaway from that, OP, is that your m+ experience will increase if you become more organized.

run with friends. don’t have any? add people to your friends list who did well in keys. over time, you’ll have a pool of people to work with.

It’s your key, you can invite who you want. Therefore you’re held responsible. Get the raider io and invite experienced players, it’s about the only thing you can do

There’s already a key leaver / ruiner accountability system in place. It’s called “Guilds”.

Me and my healer pal was pugging keys. Had 3 dps who would not kick ANYTHING. They started off complaining I wasn’t kicking stuff. They complained when they got agro when I had to run away to drop stacks of Nerco. Healer died on Coven fight because no one but me was kicking casts. She kept saying “it’s not you it’s them because Im looking at interrupts on details”.

Of course it was my fault for being a “bad tank” and ruining the key and had nothing to do with the 2 out of 3 DPS doing 1.7k DPS in a 19 with almost 3k IO scores.

It’s team effort and leadership matters. Not intended for pugs.

That’s why.
