I agree with much of this except that “entitled” part. We actually are entitled to play. We paid for that entitlement.
i think they simply forgot to flip the switch back on and went home for the day.

I just wanna know why the Hardcore Servers are the only Vanilla Era servers still down.
And it’s not just a minor difference in up time. The Regular vanilla classic servers have been up for HOURS, and yet still the hardcore servers are still down.
Why? I just don’t get it.

You’re not entitled to play, during maintenance. There’s things they have to do, you were given plenty of notification (it was in the launcher for a few days). I bet you’re the type of person who walks through wet cement as they’re putting in a new sidewalk, because you’re “entitled” to walk down the sidewalk.

well they had to roll the servers out onto the street with an electric pallet truck to blow the dust out while they rebuff the floors inside. but the pallet truck broke while they were on the way back outside to go grab the hardcore servers. now they are waiting for the technician to fix the pallet truck.

You clearly didn’t read the first half of my statement. I agree that people need to relax. But we are entitled to play the game, and complain when we cannot. we pay for that.

I read that Hardcore is on the Dragonflight engine. If era servers aren’t it could be related to that.

Really? I would have never guessed if that was the case. It seems to be exactly like the Era servers.
But entitled to complain during maintenance? Indeed!
nah classic era and hardcore are the same client. just diffrent servers with diffrent server settings.
maybe the wrath of the lich king classic is a diffrent engine though.
Sadly we will NEVER know. Blizzard is built on the power to keep you guessing.

They’re all on the same engine.
We have many more steps to take with Hardcore during a full patch update like this one. Those steps are all focused on finding any issue that has even a remote chance of causing players to die. If we find such an issue, we go through a whole process of understanding it, reproducing it, designing a fix, testing the fix, and applying the fix before we open Hardcore realms publicly.
Issues like that can be safely tolerated on the non-Hardcore Classic Era realms for a little while, and of course, we apply our fixes to Classic Era realms as well as Hardcore realms as we go.
