Why are the Alliance so bad in BGs?

I just hit exalted with WSG on my third toon. Unlike the first two who did the grind in pre-mades during phase 1, this character went from revered to exalted solo queueing in phase 2.

In ~90 games I lost a grand total of 5 times. I saw several Alliance 10 stacks from the same server get steamrolled by Horde randos. Hard to imagine Discord queueing and getting absolutely wrecked by a bunch of solo queuers.

Which begs the question…why are the Alliance so bad in BGs?

If they can’t premade with someone actively telling them what to do and how to do, and if they can’t stack OP classes, they never win.

Probably mostly self fulfilled prophecy. I heard a good talk on the phenomenon of “choking” that probably applies here.

Edit: Found it. From Harvard business review. Add the “org”

All of the good PvP players went Horde for the racials. Good PvP players are going to choose what gives them an edge. It’s why the majority of the players in the Mak’Gora tournament went Horde. It’s really as simple as that.

Even with good racials it is hard to overcome a losing mentality

Losing is a disease

We’ve all seen Lebron in the championship games

Jordon has how many?

Yeah, that definitely makes things worse. Nothing like having Horde cap one flag and watch your whole team give up.

You never been in a bg with all players from the same server and it’s not a premade? I swear most bgs players are from cs

In my opinion good alliance pvpers don’t play as much without premades, horde pugs will have an easier time being carried by racials. Probably why a lot of people end up thinking theyre pretty good at pvp when they play Horde in pug bgs. From what I’ve heard most Horde feel like pug bgs are faceroll, and thats probably why

I always love when I fight an orc and they just resist my cheap shot / kidney shot then make gestures at me or scream lol like yeah you completely out played me bub.

I’ve seen this waaay too often. First flag cap they just sit in their graveyard. But it seems like horde will fight tooth and nail even with the score being 0/2 and the efc is running through ally tunnel.

Unfortunately I have been guilty of sometimes doing this. Often Alliance has absolutely no healers, no one is using CCs, you have rogues roaming around stealth on different sides of the map doing who knows what, and the entire team is spread out thin making easy targets for Horde.

Michael Jordan had several hall of fame teammates. How many did LeBron have?

Look up Jordan’s career record in games without Scottie Pippen. Edit - I’ll save you the trouble. In games without Pippen he was 193-187. Basically a .500 win %. In the playoffs he was 1-9 without Pippen. 1 win. 9 losses. The God hero Michael Jordan.

Meanwhile LeBron carried literal nobodies to the finals over and over and over again in Cleveland.

Because the alliance are filled with unskilled pvers because muh paladins

The kids hate this

It’s all about the W

Cowardice, that why. I can’t even begin to count the number of times I have seen even matches come to clash against each other in a bg, and see two people turn and run like absolute babies at the sight of two horde. I charge in as they are running and end up fighting those two people. In P1 I would usually kill them both, in P2 I am most likely dead. People need to grow balls on our side.

It’s because lavaburst has guaranteed 1200 DMG crit on an 8 second cooldown with 2 second cast (better than eclipse starfire at 3.5) or less with maelstrom and chance to cast a second one free of charge with half damage. All while wearing mail and 30y casting totems on you while full healing.

Because the Horde have more shamans?

Ele needs to be Within 20 yards for that guaranteed crit and majority of enhance are running lava lash because it hits hard and we’d rather use our low proc maelstrom weapon on healing since we run way of earth and double rockbiter or else we’ll fall over before we even get in the fight.

Expecting to win

Vs

Expecting to lose

When something goes wrong what happens.

If you expect to win you don’t give up.

It is as simple as that

Some folks assume they are going to win. No matter what they keep trying. By trying they constantly give themselves the opportunity to win.
