Why are tanks treating regular heroics like challenge dungeons?

Not me, im the most highly regarded member of this community.

You got a 100 going on the last boss you filthy animal.

Its normal! Hopefully going to start heroic prog next week! I’m playing with people I played with in the end of SoD. Got alot of learning to do but its a solid group all around I’m probably going to start GDKPs next week. Just don’t have motivation to finish leveling and gearing toons right now!

Oh nice that’s cool. The raid is really fun I am loving it actually.

Don’t say GDKP around here though Ripsod will appear out of the shadows and slither into the thread.

Lawl doesn’t she have like multiple companies to run?

It’s funny she was mad the other day whining about how my parses don’t count and this and that because I’m not playing the “Meta” Spec.

Yeah he also said he’s sponsored LOL.

What a storyteller.

IMO they are not even heroic, just half the difficulty of a level cap dungeon…

Now you know why I get kicked out of dungeons in RDF…

Because I don’t tolerate that behavior.

Tanks and DPS aren’t pulling that crap on me.

That’s really why all this toxic behavior exists…

People tolerate it because the completion of the dungeon/raid/PvE-content is on the line for them and they let it happen, even going along with it by accepting the vote-kick without bothering to get the correct picture.

Minimum item level for entry to RDF heroic. Que normals if unsure about role. No one checks with tank before pulling extra or just running ahead. Why hand held so much?

Chiming in as a healer, it’s very frustrating as a Disc Priest to try and heal a tank who is speed running as I’m zoning in. They pull and LOS around corners like no tomorrow. I can chase them with feather but if they are too far ahead it’s rough getting him (and the dps who got aggro along the way) healed up.

I’ve had tanks run straight to boss with all ads in tow and whipe because by the time heals (and dps) has caught up the tank has lost so much health that it’s impossible to heal him back up, especially with the amount of mob damage that’s still going out.

I’ve also seen tanks pull bosses after exhausting healer mana by kiting all of the trash to boss. Most tanks don’t even pay attention to healer mana, let alone the fact that dps is dying to the parts of the mob that the tank didn’t aggro.

I’ll be honest, as long as they don’t die I vastly prefer that compared to the slow methodical tanks. Like those slow tanks are fine they can go at whatever pace they want, but a part of me resents them; their health is never dropping below 95% and they’re still treating every pack like a raid boss. The tanks that get the dungeon done as fast as possible are so lovely I love them

Most people aren’t trying to spend forever in dungeons they’ve run a million times. Can’t understand why you’d be opposed to doing them faster.

That’s Not the Problem, It’s Execution
If you’re zoning in and the tank is already pulling, that’s a coordination issue not a tanking one. Join the group, buff, and communicate. If you’re not ready, say so. But blaming the tank for moving efficiently while you’re AFK or slow to react? That’s on you.

hat’s called positioning. Tanks use LOS pulls to group mobs and reduce incoming damage. It’s a skill, not a flaw. If you’re struggling to keep up, use your tools:

  • Power Word: Shield preemptively
  • Angelic Feather smartly
  • Leap of Faith if needed

Disc Priests have mobility and preemptive healing. Use them.

That’s a DPS problem, not a tank problem.

  • DPS should wait for mobs to be grouped before AoEing.
  • If they face-pull or pad meters early, they’re responsible for their own deaths.
  • Tanks aren’t babysitters they’re strategists. If DPS ignore mechanics, they pay the price.

Then speak up. If your mana is low, say so. Most tanks will wait if you communicate. If you don’t, and they pull, that’s a breakdown in group coordination not tank abuse.

Also, tanks in MoP Classic have:

  • Self-heals (Death Strike, Word of Glory, etc.)
  • Cooldowns (Shield Wall, Barkskin, etc.)
  • Mobility tools to kite and mitigate damage

Many tanks can solo packs if played correctly. If they die, it’s either poor cooldown usage or lack of support not an indictment of speed-pulling.

These Dungeons Aren’t Hard. it’s just bad players such as yourself that make them hard!

MoP heroics are tuned for speed and efficiency. The only thing that makes them difficult is:

  • DPS pulling early
  • Healers not managing mana
  • Tanks ignoring cooldowns

If everyone plays their role, these dungeons fly by. If you’re wiping, it’s not because the tank pulled fast it’s because the group failed to execute.

Don’t blame tanks for playing efficiently. Blame poor communication, bad DPS habits, and lack of awareness. If you want slow, methodical pulls, speak up. But don’t cry “abuse” when the tank plays to the strengths of the dungeon and expects the group to keep up.
