Why are tanks so bad in PvP. I am a new player enjoying playing Vengeance DH and I get into a battleground and I am next to useless. I also very rarely see any other tanks on my team. Could someone explain why they are so bad at pvp, and also why there is nothing in the game that gives any warning about it. In fact, the call to arms bonus is asking for tanks, which is deceptive to new players like me

Play prot paladin its the most fun tank has utility healing and decent dmg
! Okay time for me to be serious, no pun intended. Tanks are great for certain situations in BG. Maybe if you’re carrying the flag or holding the orb etc than you’re great but if you’re planing to actually kill other players faster you should probably switch specs.
Tanks aren’t unkillable gods that deal 0 damage anymore. They take a bit less damage than most DPS and deal a bit less too. Instead of offensive CDs, you have defensive ones.
You can frontline team fights, carry flags and orbs, and solo defend nodes.
Vengeance DH are un-killable gods
I can’t exactly tank when enemy players can choose not to target me. It’s not like taunts or threat mean anything against real people
I was recently top damage and killing blows for my team in a WSG as prot war today. Although I believe that might have been why we lost.
Well duh! Tanks aren’t supposed to do awesome damage, they are tanks. If you want to do great damage, play a dps…
It’s tough to ignore you when you’re holding the flag, the only player at a base they want to take, or the player in the very front of a team fight.
This pretty much, they are situational and it is dependent on the bg you are playing.

What do you mean zero damage? In WoD, several tanks could top damage, top healing and killing blows in a BG with blood Dk probably being the worst offender. The movies below are why tanks got nerfed in pvp (and rightfully so).
Lots of people with gladiator and duelist achieves getting 1v2d and 1v3d in these movies.
That’s all good on a flag map, but most maps aren’t flags
In the current balance of things, tanks really don’t fit in other than the two flag maps and DWG (EotS has a flag but it works different).
The way things are right now it’s all about bursting certain targets down (healers, glass cannons, etc) and most tanks can’t contribute enough to that. They end up being dead weight in the grand scheme of things, as killed defenders are able to return to the flag and spin because their friends aren’t dying fast enough.
Being able to live a bit longer really doesn’t mean much unless they have a flag in their hands.
FC maps and epic battlegrounds as a prot warrior, cause prot warriors can rot a big group of melee with big aoe damage while being very distruptive. Also dragon charge can distrupt a whole group til they all decide to focus fire you. Still I hit like 20 horde with dragon charge twice the other day which pretty much cc’d 20 horde for 2 to 3 secs.

Everynow and then corn and I roll prot wars for bgs.
You can slow people forever with thunderclap rotating and knock people off with dragon charge.
He also flag ran for my hpally last night and won that game easily.
Not really dude, PROT paladins are insane in PVP. The healing I do is equivalent to my Disc priest healer. And also we do great damage as well.
