Why are retail players such

Zoilists and snoutbands if you even think about mentioning perhaps maybe taking their precious heirlooms away! The Retail forums are super toxic! If you post constructive posts and provide ideas for the game, you get torn apart by retail troglodytes! It’s not that Classic folks aren’t total trolls, but they are my trolls. I have found my tribe. #ClassicWoW

I am just going to say that talking about wow in anyway whether you like classic or retail gatekeepers will always be there to shot down criticism

Agreed, no matter what there is always that one person who needs to get the last word to say how they feel.

I feel that way as well

Heirlooms are kind of necessary on retail though. Slogging through 120 levels is fine once or twice but as alt driven as retail is, I’d rather have a buff to do it again. Especially since leveling on retail isn’t a meaningful experience anymore anyway, and is more of a glorified time sink than anything. idk, that’s just my opinion on the matter.

Yo, thanks for the validation. I’m relieved that others feel the same way. Folks seriously need to learn how to engage in proper discord. My heart hurts after an hour on these forums. Everyone is scanning for things to disagree with instead of putting their own ideas out there. I feel like a warlock is casting drain soul on me, because deep down I love this game so it hurts to be spurned by the very community I grew up in and loved. I am hoping Classic can be better. There is no use brainstorming ways to improve retail. Not only does the community not want to hear your thoughts, neither does Blizzard, and Blizzard doesn’t know their lore or the systems as intimately as us. So they will never quite deliver to our ideals. We are better off with Classic.

retail players are mostly kids who couldn’t even hit max level until they introduced boosts. /thread

As opposed to these forums, which is filled with sunshine and rainbows simultaneously, and everybody discusses matters with civility over a cup of tea.

The whole idea of heirlooms is bonus experience. Why not just give us an heirloom necklace that grants bonus experience so we can actually hunt for cool loot again as we level! These retail players have just spent real money on gold to buy all of the heirlooms so they will prevent the system from ever changing!

Classic will always be home to me. Where blue pieces are appreciated and memories are created

most people here are just afraid of blizz messup classic right now so the #nochange camp is huge right now

I won’t say the system is perfect, but what I will say is that when I’m leveling alts on retail, I’m not focused on the gear I’m wearing so much as how fast I’m leveling. Retail and classic are just different experiences entirely so it’s hard to make suggestions to bring things back without looking at a broader scope of how it would change things. I do agree with your main point though that there’s a big chasm between retail and classic players. Lots of hostility that just doesn’t need to be there.

Wow so many people who agree. Night and day to the other general forum. It appears I am not just feeling things. The two communities are for sure polarizing though. You are pegged a classic troll and tarred and feathered if they get a whiff of your gaming philosophy over there.

Over on the retail forums they are feeling the same about people here.

Have retail fans came in here and gotten blasted? I haven’t really seen it, but perhaps people asking for non Classic things in Classic? The issue seems to be more about Retail being mostly children, Chinese, and those heavily invested in the real money sinks and therefore hyper protective of their “digital assets”. I am a cryptocurrency consultant, I get it, but this is why pay to win is awful. Games should stay games. It was a complete erosion of social fabric.

Its mainly because Classic people go to the retail forums and post stuff like, “Classic is going to kill WoW” and purposely try to antagonize people. Retail people are just sick of it
