Because they know how popular mogging is, and see it as a way to suck gold away from the player.
Ultimately its all about making money. As much as I like the Token (using my gold to buy a token off the AH and put it on my bnet account allowed me to buy TWW with my gold) they do seem to be pushing the old “gold sink” principle to effect even those who don’t have a lot of gold to sink.
I can’t unsee how not having durability, repair, transmog costs, junk items, or gold (along with the necessity of farming it) made Remix the best thing ever.
This is why I want them to tell me, high-end, how much they can get me to swipe my card from doing this hot garbage to me.
I will then pay that to have all professions, all vendor items are free, no more repair or transmog costs, items I make cost 1/5th the reagents, I can’t use the auction house, and everything I touch is soulbound. Basically I just pay the max and it all goes away.
I’d rather go farming for stuff that helps my character, like materials or gear. Spending my limited gaming time making gold to give back to them so I can temporarily change my appearance isnt fun for me.
And maybe give me an option to lock my appearance so it doesnt keep going away every time I put on a new piece of gear.
No no, i agree. Just giving an example of how relatively easy gold is to make.
When I play, its to run M+.
However, when Tank and Healer bags are given for queued content I do that too. Easy 2-4k gold right there.
Pick up some gathering professions if you are hurting for gold this bad. I can make your entire stockpile in an hour of herbing and mining, not to even mention what the other profs are capable of.
Because the game is over inflated with gold on a handful of players and in an attempt to get those players to spend their gold, everything is expensive. Even something as COSMETIC as a transmog is almost 700g. So the poor folk are being killed financially cause the rich folks refuse to spend to get the gold out of the game in order to stabilize the market, leaving a handful of us middle class here to buy tokens in an attempt to help support the poor while trying to figure out why people are hoarding imaginary currency in a game.
Oh, that’s right, cause Blizz likes to randomly add Rare and Unachievable mounts for 1M-5M gold without warning and they want to be prepared. So if you really want someone to blame, you can blame Blizz for making the cost of crafted and rare rep mounts so astronomically and prohibitively expensive that 1,000 out of 7.25M players can ACTUALLY afford it.
/kicks soapbox back under the table and stares at 4.5M Engineering mount.
The current cost of repair was something I paid when I was ilvl capped, pretty sure they increased it.
Don’t remember ever paying 500g-600g+ on champion track gear
