I haven’t done RBGs until this expansion and I jumped into it like a week ago. Okay, so getting from 0-1500 is easy. You get about 100-150 rating a game so you catch up fast.
Now once you hit 1500 you start getting a maximum of 20 rating a win so it turns into a grind. However, since the team MMR is always like 300+ higher than your rating you never lose anything on loses (or lose very little), and get like 14-20 rating a win.
So I can sit here with a 50% win/loss ratio and still get to 1728 because I lose nothing on loses, but earn 20 rating on wins. Contrast this to arenas where you deal with constant ping-ponging on rating.
Just seems like the super casual way to grind to 1800-2100 without any real risk of setbacks.

Yes. People have been saying this for over a month. Getting 1800 in RBGs is obtainable by anyone.

Hardest part is getting accepted to group past 1600 unless you’re a meta class. I did resto till 1600 now I only get accepted as boomkin

The problem I have is I’m picky in which groups I want to try and pug in. I always look up the people hosting the groups and check their iLvl, win/loss ratio, current rating, etc. All these groups want people 25%+ versatility and I’d literally lose like 10 iLvls and 4k hp just to drop my gear to reach that.

This is also why no one respects RBG rating, most people that hit 2k in RBGs are hard stuck 1200 in arena for a reason.

Can yolo to 1600 usually but after that it’s not ideal
Cause some classes are only good in larger groups

The top classes in RBG are not different than the top classes in arena save for maybe an aff lock, so yes most classes are good in all settings, grouped or not.
The difference here is that individual skill rarely matters in RBGs since that can be compensated by the 9 other people who can help you recover everytime you make a mistake, it’s a very forgiving environment to learn how to not play your class properly.

Yes, and no.
Arenas and RBGs aren’t the same kind of environment. Arenas are brawls and are a game of chess whereas RBGs are much more of a tactical environment. The strategy required to win RBGs is much different because the environment is fluid. You might need to have team mates split off in order to assault multiple cap points at once or take advantage of rogues.
Arenas are just the main focus of the MLG because it’s much easier to narrate a 2v2 or 3v3 than a 10v10 game of people fighting over control points or running a flag across the map and sitting on the roof playing defense.
All I’m saying is you dont have to be a top spec to rbg and still succeed to get your mog and some good gear. Plus as active as rbgs are right now it is actually fun.
I understand how this can seem like some intense war time strategy, but literally anyone whose stepped into a random BG more than 2 times can tell you what it takes to win a static BG objective.
Currently the RBG ladder is infested with mythic raider guilds who boost a couple people from sub 1k MMR into 2k+ and it’s easily done when they can just say “Go cap farm and spin while we carry every fight everywhere else”.
Sorry but overall, RBG requires less skill and strategy than arena.
Because even if you were boost people in arenas, some players are just so bad that you can’t get them past a certain rating no matter how good you are a player but that doesn’t apply in RBGs at all.
You act as if some people haven’t actually slowly earned their rbg rating though not everyone got a carry

Yeah but when the ladder is so infested with teams that don’t belong in low MMRs, and some of the teams you fight clearly have a bunch of 2k players and a couple sub 1k players then that makes boosting extremely prevalent in the PvP ladders.
So i’m not saying people can’t easily get to 2.1k in RBGs, because they can but the likelihood that they bought rating is also just as high as the people who do it legit given our current iteration of gear and how gearing works.
I do agree with that is really hard to tell who actually earned it.
You’re arguing with some clown who is both 1500 exp in 3s and rbgs. MMR is extremely inflated currently, but everything he says is extremely exaggerated and he has no idea what he talks about. Dudes main is probably in THE MOVE. Best you don’t engage with Tupac. He has never experienced a 2400 3s or rbg game personally, he can’t speak on either.

As someone who has been banned in the past for selling rbg carries, you have absolutely no clue what you’re talking about. Paid carries are still extremely rare. A single player is still a liability. I sold pilots in MoP. It’s not as simple has having a “1k player” sit a base. People are 2k right now because MMR is extremely inflated, not because they were carried. Stop typing nonsense. I’ll paypal you $1000 if you hit 2400 in any bracket this season.
You lost all credibility when you claimed mythic raiding guilds are selling rbg carries. Mythic raiding guilds are inflated thanks to gear. Competent teams farm them. They are incapable of selling rating in a bracket they’re not good at it. The fact that you’re essentially comparing this to selling a raid carry or m+ carry is extremely cringe.

Primary stats and stam are more important than vers. People telling you to link vers aren’t very knowledgeable.

Ohh yeah your the guy that tried to flex his dead twitch channel last week, you get more than 2 viewers yet?
Oh sorry, didn’t know I was talking to a professional boosting service provider. Do you have any coupons I can use at checkout? The current prices for RBG carries are a little too high
