Why Premades Are a Plague on WoW PvP
Listen up, premade apologists, because this one’s for you! Premades in BGs/EBGs aren’t just a “playstyle choice”—they’re a wrecking ball smashing any hope of fair, fun PvP for the average player. Here’s why they need to be reined in, and no, “I just want to play with friends” doesn’t cut it:
- They Ruin Matchmaking Balance: Premades, especially sync-queue groups, stack the deck with optimized comps, voice comms, and coordinated strategies. Meanwhile, solo queue players get thrown into the meat grinder with randoms who might not even know the objectives. Blizzard’s matchmaking doesn’t account for group synergy, so premades consistently steamroll PUGs, turning BGs into one-sided slaughters. Fair fight? More like a scripted execution.
- They Drive Players Away: When solo players face premade buzzsaws night after night, they don’t “get gud” or join a premade—they quit. PvP participation is already dwindling, and premades are a big reason why. Nobody wants to be cannon fodder for your Discord clique’s ego trip. Blizzard’s losing subs because you’re gatekeeping fun for anyone not in your buddy bubble.
- They Exploit Game Design: Premades abuse the queue system’s flaws, especially in EBGs where sync-queueing lets you field near-raid-level coordination against disorganized randos. This isn’t skill; it’s exploiting a system that can’t match your stacked and coordinated death squad against equal opposition. If you’re so good, why not face other premades instead of farming PUGs for easy wins?
- Wargames Aren’t a Fix—Yet: The “just do wargames” excuse is laughable. Wargames offer no honor, no conquest, and take forever to organize. Compare that to premades clicking one button to dominate a BG queue. Until Blizzard juices up wargame rewards or adds a premade-only queue, you’re just hiding behind a broken system to pad your stats.
- It’s Not About Friends, It’s About Winning: Let’s be real—most premades aren’t about “hanging with buddies.” They’re about stacking healers, tanks, and meta DPS to crush uncoordinated teams. If you cared about fun, you’d push for fair matchmaking, not defend a setup that lets you bully solo players. Your “social” excuse is just a flimsy cover for wanting easy dubs.
Blizzard, wake up and fix this. Match premades against premades, balance healer distribution, or give solo players a fighting chance with better MMR. Until then, premades are a toxic crutch that’s bleeding PvP dry. Solo players deserve a game, not a massacre. Drop the “git gud” nonsense and face facts: premades are breaking WoW PvP, and it’s time to stop coddling them.
