In survivalist’s/hunter’s modes, if you are hunting, the first person who hits the kill owns the kill. S/he doesn’t say, “oh I need your help or they’re in a group unless they need help.” In Wow, it was that way and all of a sudden I notice that people are horning in on other’s kills–then making excuses about: it’s always been this way or I’m your friend (and they’re not) and other ones even worse. First shot gets the kill in games and in RL…so wtf ?
Yea in classic other players cant tag your mobs, but it was changed so that your faction can tag and get credit up to 5 people i think
Really?? players are treating other players like trash in this game ?? Seriously
The real faction war is when there’s a lot of Alliance and Horde farming in one area outside warmode.
Keep in mind, before shared tags it was not uncommon for some players to be jerks and tag mobs just before another player hit the mob and then leave the mob to be killed by the second one to hit it.
In other words, we got shared tags because people were getting credit for kills that they had no part but the first hit on
In my Alliance dominated server, it’s nice to not be hunting through a sea of gray mobs.
I like it, except when I’m on a Rogue or Druid and want to stealth, but someone I have no connection with is fighting a mob nearby.
The real friends are the ones we horned along the way.
Dont even get me started on how people treat each other in RL. This is candyland compared

Way back in the dark ages of wow there was no “tagging” it was as you described… only the person who first landed a hit got kill credit.
It sucked.
Also picture at the start of the game it’s popularity was climbing like a rocket ship with tons of players joining monthly and also realms were their own “game world” so to speak so a full realm felt crowded (though mostly this was a good thing to be honest) … getting a quest to kill x of y mobs was frustrating on busy realms.
I don’t know about you but as much as I’m fine “wasting time” progressing in a game I really don’t enjoy “just wasting time” by going nowhere in a game.
I’m glad blizzard added tagging in the game.

I don’t understand this complaint? Is this a PvP thing where last hit gets kill credit, but no one else? If you’re talking about PvE mobs, if you hit first you still get credit for the kill and loot along with the other player(s).

it comes down to sharing is caring. Do not be selfish share the kills the tag they bag.
