Why are people still crying about leavers if the key was already dead?

After getting my 3K mount, I only complete 8 keys for the vault weekly. (typically m10-m12).

Sometimes, people leave when it’s clear that the key can’t be timed. (The key owner didn’t specify “no leavers” in the title, which is likely a red flag for many players. ) I don’t mind if it’s timed since I’m doing it for the vault. But I understand that the leaver may be after the portal or just trying to gain score.

Despite this, I often notice that some players in the group insist on reporting the leaver. I mean, for what reason? There are no options in the reporting system specifically for leaving keys, and most importantly, the key owner didn’t mention “no leavers” at the beginning.

What they want to do is none of my business. I’m bringing this up because these players often pressure me to report the leaver or threaten to report me instead.

Why can’t they understand that abusing the reporting system only makes things worse? Not to mention, leaving a key won’t result in punishment if timed is impossible.

This happens about three times a week on average. And it’s kind of annoying now.

Some people want vault credit or just the joy of finishing the key.

I got my vault credits on +14s this week.

Did x4.

Some people need it for vault but obv that depends on the level and how bad it’s going.

If someone lists their group as “no leaver” it won’t fill… why join a group that’s going to strugglebus a 10

Didn’t blizz recently implement a rule to punish excessive leavers in m+?

I imagine they have access to data that would show some shenanigans going on.

Perhaps one person’s dead key is another person’s not-so-dead key?

Only for those intentionally break other’s key, like leaving key instantly after putting key in.

Vault credit, chance at loot, teleport reset.

The leaver probably left because they felt staying would be wasting their time.
The reporters probably reported because they felt the leaver wasted THEIR time, and feel slighted by that.

Leaving keys is fine by the rules of the game, so I’d never think to report it, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel anger towards some people I’ve experienced leaving keys when I just wanted to fill my alts’ vault slots.

It’s just people with different goals, a system that doesn’t do a good job grouping people whose goals are aligned, and a general lack of interpersonal communication in the game nowadays.

What a narcissistic and solipsistic view. Completely self centered.

Some people just wanna do the weekly for vault, whether it’s timed or now, people who make a habit of leaving group as soon as something goes wrong should get a suspension eventually. Who the hell are you to tell these people that it doesn’t matter if someone leaves since the key was depleted anyway? Have you ever considered in your life, that your priorities are not everyone else priorities?

By the way, you’re not fooling anyone here, most normal people understand what the actual issue is here, if only you think about it logically for a second or two, the only people who would argue against this are essentially people who think it’s fine to leave whenever they want and leave the key holder with a depleted key.

You’re just trying to sound purposefully aloof in order to make your argument seem more valid, as if it’s a question, rather than an affirmation. Oh im just asking a question here!

Optimally, blizzard should just remake the keystone system completely so this is more of an inconvenience if someone leaves rather than a double punishment for the holder, but this is better than nothing at least.

Someone’s been down the psychology worm hole!
It’s a pretty heavy word for a video game. It’s to be expected when pugging, doesn’t mean its good but there are a lot of valid reasons for leaving a key.

This is the usual “what about muh exceptions” midwit argument.

The reality is that there are totally many people who leave at the first sign of trouble.

And the people who don’t usually stay until the end, or if it’s literally impossible because the players are just too bad they usually at least leave a note, and everyone more or less understands what’s going on.

Well there’s soo many people that play the game, if you’re such a scientist you’d assemble a team of good players and wouldn’t be on here q.qing about “MY KEY GOT BRICKED”

But if you’re too lazy to do that, be prepared for the consequences. It’s cause and effect!
This idea that the game should conform to your needs is hilarious!

This isn’t even an argument, literally beneath consideration, please stop talking to me.

By the way, nice green and gray logs you’re got there, you wanna talk about skills? Dude, im better than you are.

Sometimes the key might not even be dead and people will still leave. All it takes is the smallest thing.

Was just the spark, dynamite was already there.

lmao.

Pretty sure the OP is talking about instances where this is a forgone conclusion.

Maybe, but at this point why even talk about it.

More or less everyone understands that if the group is trash, then you really have nobody to blame.

So the argument is frankly basically useless, because as soon as you look at the facts and you see 2/3 of the dps below 1 mil dps in a big pull, the healer barely healing, and the tank losing aggro on everything and dying immediately, you put 2 and 2 together and realize what the issue is.

Here’s a thing though, mistakes can happen, a single pull is usually not enough to tell if the group is doomed or not, yet an awful lot of people leave as soon as an issue happens. Even if THEY CAUSED IT, like tanks pulling way too much stuff, without considering anything else other than the video they saw on youtube, blaming everyone but themselves and leave. What about the average dps of the group? What about the healer, have you checked if they can keep up? What about you? Are you sure you can actually stay alive even if the group is not optimal? They don’t ask themselves these questions.

So ultimately many of these arguments to me come off as trying to obfuscate what’s actually important, and focus on irrelevant whataboutism. Basically focusing on what’s blatantly, obviously bad groups disbanding.

I like to watch Netflix during M+ vault runs and these let me do that while contributing more than enough

Also sometimes you help people who would otherwise never try a 10 and are doing a no leaver group just because they want the experience/practice
