What is going on wit the SM spam? Is this the new meta, or are they simply doing this out of conveinance? Is the world too crowded for questing etc>
Could people pull this off as well without all the max level 30 gear they spent accumulating?
Wondering if this is truly the fastest way, whenever a /who pops up there are equally high or higher levels not in SM but out in world questing.

I’ve been wondering the same thing
My guess would be these are people who ran out of quests at level 30 because they spent the time between hitting level 30 and the level cap being raised to 40 doing every possible quest they could because the experience was converted to gold, that and trying to get “BiS”.

SM was the highest dungeon with the best diversity of gear, that a Level 30 can complete.

There’s such a funnel for quests between 30-40 right now that there aren’t enough mobs/too much PvP. The first 40 got it by spamming SM in ~22 hours, it’s good xp.
Someone mentioned that on the beta forums.
They did a /w and SM showed 50+ while STV showed 16.
If the streamers are rushing to 40 via SM then all their groupies will do that as well. Remember they are “influencers”.
I imagine this will have an impact on the game once launched and will make it more like retail…leveling via dungeons and doing the whole “gear chase” thing from the first dungeon at level 15 to the last at level 60.
Welcome to retail wow 2.0

yup…power level via the dungeon.

It started because Hillsbrad and STV were overcrowded and people were just getting camped constantly.
If I had to guess, people eventually decided it was “better” and now the tables are turned and everyone is just camping the SM lobby.

Even back in 2005, people ran SM over and over again. The loot is really good and lasts a long time. The level range is massive, from 30 to 40+. The mobs are all grouped up in a way that makes speed runs very lucrative.
But it’s obviously a streamer conspiracy.

last night there were 50+ in SM with 16 players in STV.
they were using SM to rush.
Not in the least. Those that are following the streamers around also need to be at level 40 so they don’t die to the mobs.
I mean, if you have some type of reason to rush to 60 AND you have 4 other people willing to run the same dungeon over and over, I have no doubt it’s fast.
If you have to get a new group, it isn’t faster for Alliance, that’s for sure. SM takes too long to get to.

yea this defeats the purpose of classic wow, people didnt spam dungeons, that was incredibly rare, but virtually no nexistant when game first released.
It’s a bit disappointing to see, honestly. Especially from people who claim to enjoy world pvp. Leveling in stv right now everyone else is your level and there’s literally 0 chance of a 60 swinging by and ruining the fun. This is a very specific circumstance not likely to exist ever again.
It’s a real shame that this community who by and large have praised the return to an open world experience, and decried how negative an impact LFD had on wow have now completely of their own accord opted to ignore the open world experience that’s happening and spam dungeons.
Seeing something like that you honestly have to wonder if it’s really Blizzard that’s to blame for some of the changes that happened.

Nah…the pve realm is testing.
You guys are watching the streamers for action, not testing.
those streamers aren’t going to pvp until they get level 40 “BIS”

Stexx…I do not think it’s the same group of people.
When the streamers came over here to classic they brought a big following with them. All these people were retail and have now jumped ship to classic.
I think what you are seeing in those streams are “wow retailers paying classic”.
They are gear chasing to “bis” and then engaging.
This for each beta release with increased cap.

So the fastest speed is a good SM dungeon? EVen in the normal launch when people wouldnt have weeks to build up 30 BIS gear?
Isn’t questing still the fastest? Joana beat these guys in terms of raw speed right?
