Why are people so vocal about dragon flying?

Yes. And that is annoying and we don’t want to do that.

When they add classic flying in you won’t have to but until then you have to adapt

Because the title of this thread is “Why are people so vocal about dragon flying?”

See, this is the problem. If we just sit quietly blizz might think “wow, no one wants old flying back!” We have to provide feedback

Oh believe me you guys are very vocal. But like torghast it’s not going away until they’ve given it “a chance”

It’s an expansion feature for crying out loud they’re not just going to throw reg flying in this soon.

I hope for your guys’ sakes they do and that I’m wrong. I just wouldn’t hold my breath

I have kind of a hard time believing people are this vocal about it if not for some alternative reason.

When I try to put myself in their shoes and think about how I would feel if Blizzard’s main expansion feature was something I could not do because I was elderly or disabled, I would be pretty upset and would not want to continue giving them my money and would seek out other games instead.

If I just didn’t like dragon riding and it ruined the entire rest of the game for me because of it, then I wouldn’t be enjoying WoW and I’d still just go play something else instead.

I can understand people’s attachment to this game if it’s their favorite game and they’ve been playing it for years and years, but I almost feel like that would make me feel even more betrayed and angry and seek out other games even more.

I’m trying to be empathetic, but it’s really hard to understand how anyone can be this vocally upset about dragon riding and haven’t already given up and moved onto other games by now.

I’m sorry, but I still think there is a non-zero chance that people who bot and are very much financially invested in their ability to bot in WoW are angry that it’s harder to do so because of dragon riding. And they most definitely come to these forums and have plenty of time and resources to be extremely vocally angry about dragon riding. I don’t think that means everyone who dislikes dragon riding is a bot, but I think that people who just dislike dragon riding wouldn’t be anywhere near this vocal and would have moved on by now. And frankly it wouldn’t be the first time people who bot/sell carries/etc have come to these forums and pretended to care about features in WoW because it affected their bottom line.

Some people just really want to Hover when they AFK.
Some prefer to see upper areas slowly or fully stopped.
Some want to put auto run on and AFK their way from point A to B, Even though flight paths exist.
Some truly believe that it is worse.
Some just can’t get the hang of the new flying.
And some are just stubborn

The world takes all kinds

Right but like I said, some of those are small issues and probably wouldn’t be worth being this vocally upset about it. And if they did truly ruin the entire game’s experience for people, at some point they have to ask themselves if they want to continue playing a game they’re not enjoying, and they most likely wouldn’t be here anymore.

I was someone who absolutely hated Pathfinder and I remember how vocally angry people were about that, but after a certain point those people just weren’t around anymore (including me) because they finally got sick of it and quit the game over it.

I mean people lost their mind at worgen tails.

We have easy lives so… We tend to get a little melodramatic about things that irk us

Dragonriding isn’t the only thing in this game. There are other things that keep players who enjoy this game but don’t enjoy dragonriding playing. Dragonriding is a significant feature in the current xpac only at this point in time. Dragonriding has no impact on the Legion content that I am doing on alts.

This is what I think some players don’t understand - we can be vocal about what we dislike while still enjoying the game as a whole. WoW is a huge game with a variety of things for players to enjoy. If I didn’t enjoy WoW any longer then I wouldn’t be here. There’s enough things I do enjoy about WoW, and friends/guildies to play with, to keep me subbed even if I don’t enjoy dragonriding.

Now is the time to offer feedback on what we like and don’t like about dragonriding, so players are speaking up. It’s important for the devs to hear feedback from both sides regarding dragonriding.

The only dislikes I have are not being able to hover and I’m not one to get motion sickness but DR gives me motion sickness. Especially with what they expect to get to some places. Looking directly up to fly higher and then immediately looking downward to dive and keep momentum. It’s cool some of the maneuvers I can pull off, but it would just all be easier if I could just point in the direction I wanted to go and then go there.
Also sitting on the sides of mountains waiting for bubbles to fill up isn’t fun. I get that it stops bot farmers, but it’s boring AF.

That’s like me responding to you after i’ve said you hate change in a thread called “why are people vocal about untimed mythics” and i’ve just given you the title’s name as a subitude for an actual answer. Or that “It’s WORLD of WARCRAFT” emphasis thing, trying to emphasize one of the particular topics of Wow for something specific like social or pvp respectively and usually.

Let me make something clear since people seem to think people here on the forums, for SOME reason i still yet to understand (unless it’s just straight up trolling) seem to confuse this.

There’s people just dislike Dragonflying, that’s it. It doesn’t go that deep and conflating it with not enjoying the game is not being genuine here. Especially since Dragonflight has way way more then dragonriding. Some even better then Dragonriding, tbh. Like the newly revamped Talent Trees that is clearly taking inspiration from the old talent trees.

They put a 4 sec timer on the races if you arent speeding along kicks in ends the run.

Fair enough.

They will sadly never admit that. Or if they do, just fight you on every  single  Chance  they can to not admit that or until it’s conivenent for them to do so, because they want to push their narrative of being “If you dislike Dragonriding, then you’re not allowed to like Dragonflight”.

It shouldn’t be like pulling teeth to get them to aknowledge this.

No they just took what had been old class abilities since van and made them talent choices for most the OG classes.
I got a choice between my single target stun or an aoe blind cmon thats not ground breaking.

I didn’t say it was orgrinal. Infact, i was clear that this wasn’t anything new. Not sure how that confused you. I even litteraly said this…

And it doesn’t have to be new in order to be groundbreaking.

You know what isn’t groundbreaking? Dragonriding, because this is basicly GW2’s system but simpler.

Hell, WoW is Everquest but simpler.

People wanted the classic talents not this hot mess thats the point we were sick of the cookie cutter heres 5 random meaningless choices to make.

You mean the old abilites you get from them, or how the talent trees were setup?

There’s meta in everything, so… just not do whatever the meta tells you and you’re good to go.

Plus you’re unbound to rip somebody off, regardless of what system, regardless if it’s intentional or not anyways, so i wouldn’t worry about that.

Meaningless to you. For me, it helped made my Fire Mage be Legion Fire mage, but on roids.

Literally the classic-wrath talent set up where you could cross spec shockadin as an example.
If you try it with the current set up you will handicap yourself over all.
