A million gold is easy to make in the timeframe the brut was announced until it ends even just casually farming herbs and ore and doing gold reward world/weekly quests.
I had that lying around and after buying the tokens for the mount had made that back with 2 days of dedicated herb/ore farming on a single druid. It’s literally not that hard to earn 1.5 mil gold in the game currently.
Anyone who says otherwise just literally doesn’t want to put any actual effort into the endeavor.

Doesn’t mean we can’t push back against it. History is full of things that was considered “normal” and was then opposed, pushed back against and overthrown, for better or for worse. In this case, I think pushing back against cheap and lazy monetization like this that costs twice the price of a full game is a very worthwhile cause. Especially when you consider that WoW is already a full price game with a subscription fee and am already overpriced in-game store plus WoW tokens scraping even more money off the top, and they still can’t even put enough money into quality control or balancing the game.

Not that simple. Its mere existence affects you in an MMORPG like this. It offers a slight advantage (extreme example and was onviously a joke video but there’s a clip of someone using it to buy bandages mid arena match) and is content taken away from normal game means and locked behind a paywall. An absurd paywall. It’s also Blizzard going against their word once again, considering the reason why they took away the brutosaur mount was because they didn’t want it to become too common like the Yak or Mammoth - and then they just throw an even better brutosaur that you can get just for swiping a credit card!

Oh i can quite comfortably afford it. I even gifted one to a good friend of mine who really wanted it and couldn’t afford it. It was one of the most painful purchases of my life and it pained me greatly to support it in any way, but my friend’s happiness matters to me. I sure as heck am not getting myself one, not because i can’t afford it or anything, but because this kind of scummy greed is everything i stand against in corporate greed. I don’t think everything should be free, no. But WoW was already a money printing machine 20 years ago before all these microtransactions were put in. Why are we letting them constantly push the greed to further extremes and nickle and dime us constantly when they can’t even take the time to test their own damn game?

I’d think the people who paid out much more for the original brutosaur, which doesn’t have a mailbox (which is super useful, b/c there are two other easily obtainable vendor mounts in game already) might be rightfully annoyed. Imagine doing a huge grind, based on FOMO b/c of it being a limited item, then having a better item attainable for less gold dropped this soon after. Probably sucks.

I’m pretty impartial here, b/c I don’t have an interest in either version, but I agree with those who think a brutosaur with no vendors would be pretty neat.

It’s because Area 52 is full of people with more money than sense. What I find funny is these people who buy the mount block off mailboxes and otherwise do other obnoxious things that force you to notice it, like spending $90 on a mount for in a video-game is something to be proud of. It’s not like Blizzard is some small indie dev that consists of like 5-10 people where that $90 dollar support would actually impact the games development. All it does is give Phil and Bobby something to giggle over while they sit on their porch, smoking stogies and talking about their latest cons and scams.
And to prove to you they don’t care, here’s a quick, obvious way to tell; It’s not part of the “Pay $150+ dollars for a year sub and get exclusive content!” promotion.
