Never said it did? Might want to read my post again lol. The problem is when you have basically none of it which provides proper character and story development. You can’t have either if the tone never changes or provides challenges for the characters involved, both internally and externally.
usually a game matures along with the people who play them.
wow flipped it on its head
instead of the game growing more mature in theme its growing more immature in theme, like daisies and flowers and friendship.
Did you read your own post?
You suggested Veilguard’s problem was being light-hearted, sometimes funny, and overall hopeful. There are plenty of games that are high quality and very successful with all those things.
this hardly describes the current narrative. we just got done fighting a raid where the main boss killed her own mother
Except Veilguard has basically zero conflict between characters, thus zero character development lol.
and instead of us killing her she dies from fall damage
so, your issue is that the cutscene did not include your own character delivering the death blow? seems like a weirdly specific complaint
last time we did a death blow was nzoth
It’s going to take gibbing or a lot of blood to cross over to that M on the ESRB scale
Gibbing… I wonder if there is a mod for that
(That was a disappointing search on Curseforge)
It’s not as dark as Diablo tho!
Is the “dark fantasy” in the room with us in Warcraft 1? This looks silly as hell dude
I don’t remember this game/franchise ever not being a silly little fantasy game. That’s why I liked it over other dark fantasy games.
Yet we have gnomes …
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is out right now if you’re looking for a game like this. It’s fine if WoW is just not the kinda “dark fantasy” game that you say you’re looking for. There’s lots of other great games out there that fit this criteria, too.
because were sick of the Disney esque writing. look back to dragonflight cinematics and tell me that they didn’t remind you of some Disney avengers crap.
but we wanna play wow. why are you trying to drive people away
i know for sure people fighting against darker themes were gonna play anyway if they were in the game
What, you didn’t like the villain bailing when they saw a super threat in Lillian Voss lol?
I seriously laughed during that scene, it made their “big bad” look like a clown.
Bro, this game is over 20 years old. The edgy teens that played it at the beginning have their own kids now and edgy stuff is the last thing they want when they have kids that can walk in on them when they are gaming.
this is back when wow and warcraft were mature and gritty though…
That isn’t Dragonflight, or WoW for that matter lol.
