I see a lot of people posting how they never want to see TBC because it added flying to the game. “The worst thing ever.”
Let me ask you this if you have this mindset.
Did you actually play TBC or did you come in afterwards?
Personally, I feel that blizzard did flying perfectly in TBC. You couldn’t get it until you were level 68, it was expensive, and slower than actual epic land mount. The epic flying was expensive, and not many people had it. World PvP still happened at summoning stones, in towns, and while questing.
Note: the burning crusade only added flying to Outlands… You still couldn’t fly in Azeroth.
It wasn’t like today’s retail where everyone has epic flying, and just automatically teleports to raids/dungeons.
i 100% agree with you bud, I have yet to see a valid argument against implementing TBC, the only argument i hear is “Keep vanilla the same” which in my opinion is not a valid argument. I don’t understand the issue. It is a great expansion and it does not affect any aspects of the game play. Its just a expansion with more content and dungeons/raids. Why would anyone have a problem with that!
I am not against BC in general, or flying for that matter. My issues with BC is that, as a continent, i really really realllllllllllllllllllyy hate Outland. That said, if a BC classic type server came out, i would play it.
Imo i’d rather see the effort go into a new experience rather than just walking down the trodden path of wow development. The beauty of classic to me is how different it is from what the games become, if they start raising other old expacs I think i’d be less and less inclined to play em.
i get what ya mean but i don’t think its too early, and i’m pretty sure its gonna happen because omar confirmed that the main reason they went with this version is that if they wanted to add TBC it would be easy to do.
i dont want them just to go down to the same path but i would like to move to TBC and then hopefully add new content we have never seen down the road. Or maybe add content that was scraped during the original wow release
Yeah I’m sure TBC will be great when it happens, seems likely it will, but I think people are dismissive of it right now because we’re all too busy trying to level.
Exactly… the Chicken Little’s that scream about flying are just using it as a scapegoat… they are either #nochanges people who want to rot in classic forever or they are PVPers who were bad and needed something to blame it on and the easiest thing was flying.
You explained it perfectly… they are just lame haters.
If people don’t want to see TBC it is easy… Don’t see it. They should keep the base classic servers… then if they are to decide to expand with TBC just let us do a copy paste of toons that we have already leveled to about 57 or whatever level you can go through the gate. Then we can have TBC and revert to old original classic if we would like that. I mean, might take money to do, but it is an easy solution to those who do and those who don’t want to go forward with their reliving the moment
Odd, I absolutely loved Pvp in TBC. I also recall long AV battles in TBC.
This is one expansion I hope they don’t go this far. WOTLK was when the game started to become face roll single player style game. Especially towards the end.
TBC sucked for a ton of reasons - but with flying in particular; sure it was limited but it only grew from there. It destroyed pvp as well by allowing someone to fly in on you and snipe you and then fly out… it was dumb stupid.
