300 shadow word death no crits? wtf
because shadow priest sucks, shadow word death does damage to yourself and is on the gloves which is the penance slot, u are basically losing penance to nuke yourself when you nuke your opponent, it also costs a hefty amount of mana, its like a really really really really bad starsurge
Though saying that, every spell is kind of a really bad starsurge

Yeah, SWD is pretty crazy after the buffs. As a disc priest I like using PWS, SWD then watching most of the damage get absorbed.
There is a hybrid holy/shadow damage build out there that puts out quite a fair amount of damage. It’s fun and let’s you switch from DPS to healer as needed since the talents are all in the holy tree and double dip between healing spells and DPS spells.
Compared to the other spells available to Spriest Shadow Word Death actually is more affordable than a lot of their other spells such as Shadow word pain, devouring plague, and mind blast…

The obvious answer is that people sleep on it because it’s mutually exclusive with Penance, turning you from a tank to somewhat of a glass cannon.
But it is very fun. No one expects being half-shot by a priest. And it’ll really be insane with next phase’s +40% shadow damage from talents.
It costs 59 mana. Less than Penance.

It will live up to its name for sure. A crit SW:D will kill both the target and the casting priest.

Because that’s not a lot of damage and it can kill the priest if they use it when they are low.
Spriest isn’t going to be that good P2.

Probably due to having zero mana recovery abilities. Which is going to be a problem for next phase as well.

Probably because it’s in competition with frost mage as the worst dps in the game currently
I think 40 spriest will be good. They will get some new runes and i feel some sort of mana regen will be given.
They also get shadowform finally. Shadow is like rogue in the sense that they need their entire kit to be truly good.
But i expect to see alot of current healing priest go shadow for buffs and other utility.
Shadow Priest is pretty useless without Shadow Form. Sure, they can throw out a big hit once awhile, but so can everyone else.
We are not sleeping on Shadow Priests, we are putting them to sleep.
