Numerous threads (High Elf Positivity Thread, High Elf Megathread, High Elf Primer, etc) with thousands of responses - Can someone explain?
Playable High Elves already exist in WoW, first as Blood Elves, and now Void Elves. So why are some posters #obsessed with a version of High Elf that frankly is dwindling in existence when a mega faction of them (sindorei) already are there?
It’s like that Mariah Carey song, frankly, and I just don’t get the obsession because you can roll two types of High Elves within WoW.
People want to play pretty elves with pretty blue eyes that never got corrupted and never associated with filthy mud hut dwellers. There’s nothing too complicated about it.
Funny because the Horde has the grand mega-cities of Silvermoon, Suramar, Thunder Totem and Dazar’alor, City of Gold to add to the ranks of the fortress-citadel of Org. Meanwhile Alliance has the medieval SW, a pile of ashes, a crashed spaceship, IF, an abandoned spooky city and a radioactive wasteland. So I really don’t get your point!
I’m doing Loremaster and I’m surprised at the number of High Elves I see especially in older maps.
If there’s an existing beautiful race I think it’s fair people would want to be able to play it, to people that wanted High Elves, void elves might be a step in the right direction but not what they wanted.
Fun trick. There’s a headpiece in Legion. I believe from mythic Nighthold or Emerald Nightmare. I think it’s a priest thing. ( It’s the thing that matches the robe my lock is wearing atm ) It makes your eyes glow blue so hey at least if folks wanna rp that out they can
I thought High Elves could have any coloured eyes. Elves’ association to the SW should make their eyes actively yellow, even quel’dorei like Vereesa’s. So not understanding the eye colour argument TBH.
I think it’s mostly because of the NPCs we see - minor ones at least. IIRC most of the Silver Covenant ones have blue eyes, as did the old high elf models back in vanilla.
What’s the joke? Have you been to Highmountain? Thunder Totem is quite the majestic edifice. It certainly beats Telogrus Rift, and the Vindicaar. Personally, I think it outdoes Shadowforge City too but that might be cuz Blizz didn’t give DID a good city.
I wish when people said they don’t care, they actually act it, and stop making threads about it.
A group of High elves changed their political agenda and rebranded themselves. High elves still exist and are there in the world.
High elves don’t have purple skin and tentacles in their heads. And honestly, i would not be happy with a race that screams “rule of cool”, the founding group being Horde’s scraps does not do any favors.
Except there is a decent amount of in-game settlements and NPC’s that protest otherwise.
And the bulk (95%) of the quel’dorei population exists as Blood Elves. So I am still confused to this point? The faction of High Elves that do not adhere to Silvermoon’s call are very scant.
You realize that the Silver Covenant is not existing at multiple places at once, right? The Silver Covenant of Dalaran, they are in the Argent Tourny too. And it’s them on the Isle of Thunder. These are not new, separate pockets of High Elves…
Nah, they were deliberately the HElf appearance the whole time
Anywho, most of the desire is because Void Elves have such a bad just pulled out of nowhere story behind them and were looked over for High Elves, who actually have several expansions worth of justification to be an Allied Race. Mechagnomes of all things have more of a justification being an allied race than Void Elves, that’s how bad they are.
Given how lackluster other Alliance allied races have been compared to Horde ones, High Elves pretty much became the go-to thing to support for an actual Allied Race that was requested and in the game before one patch.
Sure. There’s a small number of players who are obsessed with this, who start many threads on their many characters and multiple accounts, constantly bumping them to make it look like it’s a huge issue to everyone. They won’t be satisfied until Alliance has all the pretty elves and horde has no elves.
