So we’re obviously empowering a knife with an Old God eye on it that whispers to you and we go along with it?
The real question is are our characters stupid or apathetic? Working with a clearly-evil sentient knaifu is hardly the first questionable thing we’ve done.
Remember that time in Stonetalon when we both helped the druid thwart the evil Orc warlord AND helped the evil Orc Warlord kill the druid’s wife and bomb the druid school?
Our characters are stupid because the writers can’t be bothered to come up with reasonable motivations for the things we do. Therefore, idiot balls, idiot balls for everyone!
I could make the same comparison with a televangelist and a microphone. There’s that segment with John Oliver and tracing over a guy’s foot then sending him money for it.
Well, really our characters just want money and lootz. However, all they end up getting is some mild pocket change and disappointment. You would think our characters would learn their lessons - but nope. Maybe next quest will be the quest!
Maybe that person was lonely?
Geez, we all can’t be the “Belle of the Ball.”
Honestly, we might just be bored. Some of us have been around for a long time. We’ve killed C’thun and Yogg-Saron (or at least their avatars), we’ve slapped Kil’jaeden around (twice), punched Deathwing in the face (also twice), destroyed the Lich King, and otherwise dispatched numerous foes, great and small. That’s a helluva resume, and when you’ve gone up against such ridiculous odds and won over and over again, things like Old God schemes may start to seem less like a life-threatening event and more like a fun way to occupy your time.
The whispery one promises loot!
Why not, it sure beats turtles.
“Yes, I need blood! Oh thanks for the blood! Now give me the 3 things that make me strong! Oh by the way, go to the place where everyone has obviously gone insane!”
I can see why the Void Elves and Blood Elves do it, to gain more power, but as for everyone else, especially Night Elves and Tauren… yeah I don’t think so.
roll a shadow priest and run this weapon mogged.
She makes for a really fun companion with her unique outlook on many things. She is missed on my s.priest who is now stuck in wand/offhand hell.
less stupid and more will do anything, ANYTHING for shinies.
Is there a way to be smart and not take the stupid knife in the first place? I mean no one learned from Frostmourne………. Seems like a history repeat lets be stupid and pick up some cursed weapon sounds like a awesome idea………
In my defense, my character is the very definition of a mercenary and there was gold involved. A druid has to eat.
Was the knife paying you?
Your character is stupid because it’s an elf.
look she sounded hot ok?
i just couldn’t help it
Must have been. I gained gold for each step of the quest. Even the step purging the “gift.”
