Honest question and after looking at server ratios I see most all servers are at least 75% Horde. Is there something about the Horde racials or pvp items that make it better to be Horde?
Also, thought they were going to balance the factions the best they could to keep them closer to a 50/50 ration. Did that not happen?

Sounds like you got some bad information

You’re in the wrong forum bro.

Just lookin at the sites that track that stuff since Blizz doesn’t actuallly post it. At least I’ve never seen a place to find that info directly from them.

odd cause they are taking direct action in enforcing population caps on horde and alliance and it seems like on most servers you arent allowed to even make alliance cause they are too high of a % of the total server population.
i dont know what sites youre looking at but they are wrong it seems.

I checked a few of the ones that came up from a google search and they all showed Horde heavy. And I’ve always been able to make an Alliance toon on the servers. It could also be that those sites rely on other data besides the wow api, and that could greatly skew the numbers.
My question was an honest curiousity question. If it is the case both sides are staying pretty even, then that’s great to hear. Blizz should just share realm population data or at minimum a ratio with no actual population data, just where the server stands.

Last I checked, in SoD, it’s lopsided Alliance favored.

The data you might be seeing is something like total raid logs or some other metric that doesn’t gauge total population. But that is just a guess
Because my understanding is what has been said above, many servers are full on ally

Considering how many servers are currently Alliance locked, I’d say the servers are Alliance dominated. The tracking sites just base things off information from WarcraftLogs so it may just be that the Alliance aren’t raiding as much as horde or at least not logging.

You’re completely locked out of making Alliance characters on most servers because of population imbalance. Not sure what you’re talking about.

Where do you see these server ratios?

It’s Alliance favored on PvE servers as well, but they’re not locked because it’s not PvP.

You must not even be looking at SoD servers, or Classic Era servers at all in fact.

Horde is the best and we tried to explain this to Alliance noobs but they were so coped out of their mind they though Alliance would be better in SoD.

Alliance should have more total pop but less of the more hardcore PvP/PvE players. Orc is just amazing in classic for PvP and draws in so many people.
Also the websites you are looking at are probably getting their data from Warcraft logs and other websites that don’t have the true numbers.
Everyone knows Horde is the best, I’d love to have the Orc racial but I wanted to try out Pally with the new rune system. Shaman was a close second, once I finish getting my hunter raid ready I’m making one and if I like it enough I will probably stick to Horde and go Shaman main for the next phase.

“sites that track that stuff” [citation needed]
Raider IO generally is pretty accurate on server pop, go into “Classic Era” and all realms. They now include Hardcore and SoD servers.

I mean orcs are bigger than humans, trolls are bigger than elves, tauren bigger than dwarfs … the entire faction are just bigger and weigh more so always gonna be heavier

Its yet another thing bot gold farming is affecting.
First faction that character creation locked is gonna have bots on mass trying to create characters for that faction to farm gold so the window for real players to get in when character creation is unlocked is minimal.
So while one faction at the start was legitimately the more popular choice for real players over time it becomes bloated with bots and the only option for real players is the “less popular” choice that is in fact more populated with humans.
