I was on a caster alt for xmogs, and it’s bad.
I can count the amount of times I’ve seen people use intervene, banner, rop, disarm, darkness, incap, amz, on less than 2 hands for peeling.
Special mention goes out to hunters who don’t ros anyone but themselves, if that.
Gotta look out for number 1

Probly because you’re playing at low MMR?
I stopped playing after getting Elite but in my last set of games you began to tell what players were going to keep gaining rating and who was hardstuck.
Hunters that never steel or tar traps for their team are the worst.
You kind of stop doing it because people go out of their way to beak it lmao.
The higher you go up the more you are going to deal with counters like demo locks and frost mages, BM is actually pretty tough for melee also. But can just play a ret because they are still broken and be fine.
If you start fresh with high expectations from your 1st few lobbies you setting yourself up for disappointment.
Healers flop, no peels, tunneling, wrong targeting, no cc, no interrupts, you name it.
i’ve played only casters the entire xpac besides a little bit of enhance and its been pretty rough. affliction was by far the worst, your healers dont understand that sometimes they just need to use cds instantly or help you kite and flame you if you can’t do it all by yourself.
ill never forget playing with a prevoker and a hunter, healer was rescuing me and both rooting dps for me and the hunter didn’t scatter/trap dps to clear my dots and it was a WORLD of difference just because they used a couple cd’s to help me kite.
if more people approached rss that way the game would be so fun. but its just dmg vs heals every round

I stopped using darkness because people just run out of it. I use it for myself now.

I can’t recall, but does Darkness give the player a buff when they are within the area of effect?
If Darkness gave a buff, then at least we could code a weak aura to simply state on screen that we’re in Darkness and shouldn’t move.
It does and you can make a weak aura for it, can even just repurpose an earthen wall totem weak aura for it changing the text/spell ID
they probably think its aoe damage . just like Dome
oh look big light on me,must be aoe damage
RSS actually starts to become enjoyable bearable after 2k or so. There are still anomalies here and there though. Still get some lobbies where people don’t use healthstone, and that really makes or breaks some matches.
There is plenty of resources to make DPS better but 90% of them don’t want to use it. Just let them suck and try carry.
I honestly feel like it’s higher. I just healed a 2200 lobby (ret/warr on my team) where the ret instantly ran behind a pillar and used both walls, the warrior charged to the opposite pillar, I got stun/trapped out of stealth (not in either DPS’s line, by the way) and the warrior proceeded to die with his only damage being Charge and auto attack.
A lot of DPS, melee especially, don’t seem to have much of a clue until at least 2400.

because they hop in and zug zug to get the most damage out completely blocking anything else in their mind about peels or helping their teammates. “If enemy health get zero, I get win” is what goes through their mind, then they question you when you die to 2 melee on your face the whole game while they trained the healer or something.
I’m trying my best.
Also is it normal for Hover to sometimes just not dash at all lmao

I try to not get to that point, but that’s the truth.
The amount of times I’ve trapped or steel trapped a healer in a bad LOS position, just for my melee partner to get rooted for half a second and just tab mortal strike the healer out of the cc, then complain after is alarming.
Had a warrior break 3 freezing traps with direct damage in a match and then go “can you please land a trap this round” and the only thing that kept me from uninstalling was that the healer roasted him for it before I could.
Even at 2600 melee are just trying to aoe everything out of the gate watching their dps meter, and if their uptime dips from 98% to 93% of the match they just lose their minds.
