Why are male characters written like this

Haha, oh boy, I love your dribble of JP hate. You don’t have to like him, but having a dislike for him is not my problem. You can keep crying, though. Ahaha!

I’m doing it? What exactly am I doing. Please provide some example of what it is I’m doing ‘right now.’

I’m calling you out for the response you made. That’s it. If you want to get deeper here then that, I’d be glad to jump into fray.

Can we go one week on these forums without someone complaining about female characters or having darker skin tones?

It make this community look freaking TERRIBLE.

What’s wrong with Peterson?

Any dude who claim they are “Alphas” are far from be one in most case, a real alpha male do not need attention or approval, they do what they do and other people opinion doesn’t matter.

Beta male isn’t an insult in most case, it only become one when you are easily offended or you are insecure as a male and you take it as an insult personally even if the person isn’t even talking about you, its the same thing with the word “SIMP”

Its quite easy to see the difference between a beta and a normal guy and a normal guy from an actual alpha.

Most likely so, clearly everyone was wrong about people having to go through the Maw to reach the shadowlands as seen by taelia and calia when they went to bolvar, you can just take the portal to the shadowlands and back. So it’s possible.

Should we have threads on how great female characters are and wanting more skin colors? Oh wait, that already exists! Someone in GD was already asking for more brown skin color options to other races! Guess you missed that one.

Theres lots of good men out there. It’s just that they get lumped in with people like op who aren’t secure in their manhood. I know not all men are like thay though. I aspire to treat my wife as well as my grandfather as well as he treated my grandmother. Good men are always appreciated.

I don’t think you grasp the concept of what is happening.

Men are allowed to be emotional, but you don’t sacrifice their character and emasculate them all for the sake of trying to make the female characters look stronger. If you want them to go through a turmoil, then you make them go through a turmoil, or you make their turmoil something that still keeps the character as the character.

Good examples of this : Hermione Granger of Harry Potter, or Buffy Summers from Buffy (even though that show was oof at times), Dana Scully in the X-Files… they all had males around them constantly, but they never wrote the males as weak minded, weak willed individuals who had to rely on the girls for help. Instead, the girls helped them because that’s just how strong the girls were.

The guy is a literal genius. Who wouldn’t?

It’s almost painful to read responses like this.

Indeed. Alleria and Vereesa should arrive too. Would be interesting if the reunited with the last Windrunner, their brother who died.

I think any type of labeling is regressive/crippling behavior. It’s social engineering. Same with all the POPULAR internet slang terms. Soyboys, karens, simps these are all degrading/demeaning words. This would include toxic masculinity.

These aren’t specifically male traits. That is human behavior. Some individuals display these traits. While others not so much…

If men want more of variety in male characters. Which might include more aggressive male characters. There is nothing wrong with this. This is a fictional universe. My understanding from some of these posts they want a competent male character too that isn’t crippled with depression. I know I would enjoy more of a variety with female characters. I don’t know why the conversation has to digress into…whatever this is.

Anduin and Genn are not “weak”. Saurfang was not “weak”. Neither are Magni, Khadgar, Illidan, or Velen. Your confirmation bias is extraordinary.

Wut. News flash: males have emotions.

If they were men being headstrong, you’d call them “emotional”. Genn’s behaviour counts as headstrong. Oh, and Katherine Proudmoore got betrayed by her BEST FRIEND and didn’t see it coming and would have lost her kingdom to pirates if she hadn’t been saved at the last minute. So women can be weak and vulnerable, too.

Jaina is one of the top… four? most powerful mages ever. Tyrande is currently powered by a literal, canonical GOD. Thrall has been a punching bag since WoD and Anduin was under Sylvanas’ and the Jailer’s special watch. Even Jaina and Thrall together couldn’t break Anduin’s bonds without the key.

OTOH, when the Jailer attacked us at the waystone, only Anduin was able to resist his chains.

So, um, yeah, this is 100% confirmation bias on your part.

Wait, you expect the current WoW story writter to be able to create actual badass females and fit them in a story correctly? That is pretty much impossible.

Being a literal genius just means you’re good at taking tests. I am awesome at that though but i don’t think I’m nearly as intelligent as a certain someone who scores like 60 points lower than I do on those tests. Do you feel passively wowed my intellect? No? Mine is higher than the mensa level but i refused to join it cuz i didn’t want hand outs. That makes me an idiot to some as well. Its all relative.

If it really bothers you that bad then don’t play it. But to let that be what defines what a man is to you, or to let a story make you feel like a joke as a man, implies a much deeper problem on your end… not blizzards. Real men know their worth, and don’t need anyone to tell them. It certainly doesn’t come from a fake story in a video game.
