Not to mention we literally had a giant spaceship that could glass Orgrimmar from orbit even before the Horde could have gotten to Darkshore. There really does need to be some kind of plot armor or contrived reasoning to keep the story going and somewhat balanced.
I don’t know, Magic.
I mean, it is a fantasy game. It’s not like it has to adhere to logic and reason…
I get what you’re saying but that’s pretty absurd reasoning.
Just because we can suspend disbelief once or twice doesn’t mean the whole story can hang on it for every single thing. The plot then just becomes obviously stupid.
I only say that cause i given up trying to make sense with the things that doesn’t make sense in front of me in this game, even by high fantasy standards. Their just making up rules as they go along at this point.
I would say, the story for me personally lately has been… crap. Just plain crap. I’m not saying that Fanasty stories have inherently bad writing or makes up the rules as they go along. The witcher 3 and …Pbhht… any of the Final Fanastys and Zeldas have good story, characters, etc… Hell one of the popular stories to this very day is Middle Earth: Lord of the Rings. I never watched it cause it never interest me, but i heard good things about it.
Warcraft to me, just has a story exist to have cool looking cutscenes and cool looking stuff with rarely any substance to back it up. That is not to say it doesn’t have the genuine moments, but i can’t recall more then 5 i encountered back in Legion, or WoD, Let alone one in BFA.
Hell i might even agree with you the plot being stupid. Tyrande getting super powerful and so her people, and yet didn’t stealth kill Nathanos when she had the chance and only let more people die cause of that, and that is supposed to be our Alliance fistbump moment?
Because they have to be for it to be a game. Realistically, if the major lore characters got together they could and would solve all the world’s problems but then there would be no reason to play the game. They have to be stupid, irrational, and clumsy otherwise the story would simply end.
They hired the worst novelist they had full time. Knaak wanted to much money.
Let’s be honest here, the story is a lot closer to Plan 9 From Outer Space than it is to Schindler’s List.
Not that that’s a bad thing. It’s a game, story just there to hang the game on.
