One of my favorite parts of BFA is the horrific vision. Before the level Squish. I was level 120 and had an item level of 480. I used to solo Horrific vision with 5 mask with relative ease. After level squish, my character was dropped to level 50 and had an item level 130. But I noticed that BFA mobs were a lot harder to kill so I stopped playing BFA and decided to wait until SL comes out, level to the max, and go back to playing BFA.
Well, I finally reached Level 60, despite not really enjoying this SL expansion. I also raised my Ilvl to 152. So I was excited to go back to playing Horrific Vision. I thought I would breeze through it, instead, it was even harder than it was when I was level 120. The elites took 2 to 3 times longer to kill.
How did they mess this up so badly? Anyone else having similar experience soloing older content

Are you using your Heart of Azeroth? Its powers should be active in there, IIRC. Probably gimping yourself if you’re not wearing it, despite the lower item level and stat values.

I didn’t use my heart of azeroth just the cloak. I will give it a try and provide some feed back. Although I don’t think I have my azerite armor anymore just the HOA and cloak
Armor powers are off completely, so I don’t think that’ll hurt your performance, thankfully. Good luck on your next run – lemme know how it goes with the Heart!
I just tried it with HOA. Did not make a difference. For example just those 2 guards that guard the hut where Thrall is located took forever to kill. I used to speed kill those guys before. I didn’t even bother making it to the first elite. The problem is my character feels significantly weaker, I can’t speed through it like I used to, because everything is taking longer to die. I am a fury Warrior but I felt more like a tank running through it. Which does not make sense, these mobs are grey to me.

Honestly, a big part of it probably has to do with secondary stat scaling. Those values are so low for us at 60 right now that the kind of things our characters were capable of pulling off previously are out of reach because we’re not even at half of the value of secondary stats we had when it was current.
I admit I’m surprised that TtK was so high for those mobs. If that’s the case, it’s unlikely Blizz is going to bother to address the scaling problem until much later – it’d probably be faster to wait a content patch or two into Shadowlands after our current borrowed power scheme has gotten stronger and secondary stats have reached higher overall values.
Yeah I guess I will have to wait to gear up even more. one of my favorite things to do in wow is going back to old zones and beat up on mobs that once gave me a hard time, it seems I can’t do that any more. In fact my main motivation to get to 60 was for that singular purpose.
Oh well it is what it is. Thanks for the feeback!

Because we have been getting weaker as we level for expansions. It makes no sense to me.

They should have cut the stats in half instead of whatever we got.
We are weak at the start of an xpac and strong at the end. Currently we are at the start and you have no power yet, not compared to end game BfA.
End of an xpac we are always OP and things like Visions would seem super easy compared to doing it now.

Perhaps, but even at previous expansions, whether it was BFA, Legion, WOD, after reaching max level, the end game content of the previous Xpac got easier not harder. While it is true that SL is still new, remember that without a level squish, my level 60/152 ilvl character would have been level 130 with a 560ish gear. Clearing BFA content should be easier. Also, I am not trying to solo a BFA raid, I am trying to solo Horrific vision which is a solo content .

Because we were level squished, lost 60 (half them levels we had) and they did not adjust anything properly.

Yeah, but this time, you were stronger at level 50, than you are at level 60. Azerite, cloak, and heart of azeroth just gave an insane amount of stats, which is why it took way too long to replace them leveling in sl. Unlike before where you could replace things very early with greens. Like, we were getting greens under ilvl 100? so imagine going into sl with 130 gear?
So it makes sense that bfa content got harder lol as weird as that sounds.
The level squish has for sure caused some scaling issues, which in all honesty, is what this is.
Gear aside, you are right, in that you should be able to steamroll this content, and not in fact have increased difficulty.
You’re undergeared at 60 while you were were geared at 50. Scaling wise, you’re way behind where you were. It’s all relative. That’s how the scaling works.

Scaling of older critters is off, especially in BFA. For starters, enemy health is scaling up all the way to 60, which it should not be doing.
I don’t know if their damage scaled up; some indications are that it didn’t, but scaling their health makes it much more tedious than it should be.
At the moment, yes, and I think it shouldn’t work that way. Ten character levels always made a huge difference before scaling; unfortunately the system is different now and (IMO) done poorly.
In Legion they had to retune all the mobs after we lost our artifact powers; i expect they should do this to BFA since we lost corruptions and many will not be saving their azerite gear and Heart.

And azerite gear too…i tell anyone i know to save it
They did do this, just poorly. Some content got easier, some content got harder.
@All Thanks for all the comments. I will be patient maybe it will be fixed later.
