Why are holy paladins in M+ running Vanguard’s Momentum (a ret legendary)? I’m curious of trying out holy was trying to research what legendary to make. Should I be running a healing leggo if I’m going to be pugging?
Thanks

The thought process has to do with how much additional healing you’ll really need.
For the Kyrian/Necro builds, there’s so much healing output already, it makes sense to add more DPS capability to the kit.
But yes, if you feel like you’re having a hard time keeping up with pugs, then absolutely get a leggo that improves your healing throughout.
Because current holy paladin is a ret paladin masquerading as a healer. If anyone tries to argue against this, simply show them that M+ holy paladins are running a ret legendary.
I don’t normally post on any forums, but your takes on holy paladin are so hilariously bad I can’t resist. Stay on holy priest if you want a caster that involves the light. don’t ruin the one instant cast melee spec thats very fun and enjoyable for the rest of us thank you very much
the reason holy paladins are running vanquishers hammer is the same reasons every single healer runs damage legendaries, the base classes are more then capable of healing the content without any legendary assistance. Are resto shamans just elementals in disguise? Are resto druids just moonkins in disguise? like man chill with your takes brother.
I like vanguard’s momentum. It’s nice to be able to get that extra charge of Hammer of Wrath, especially with all of the Awakening procs. I’ll be sad to lose it in Dragonflight.
Primarily because with our healing leggos, they really don’t do much as the keys get higher up. Shock barrier is great as a key group is learning mechanics and working on surviving, however when you get into a group that avoids unnecessary damage, the leggo becomes superfluous, a buff that just ends up falling off without much utilization.
So it becomes more viable to utilize something that benefits the group versus something that does not as much.
Right, because your fun magically trumps mine, despite holy paladin hard casting spells from 2004 to 2018. Get over yourself and go be the melee dps that you want to be and let the people that actually enjoy healing play proper healing specs.
They can do both…heck, they could have a hard-caster, shockadin, and melee build if they built the tree right.
then play priest if its so “proper”, paladin is a melee healer now

Melee healing with instant casts is so fun, please keep it this way and give us more throughput! It would be cool to make consecration heal everyone like healing rain, and add a hot to one of our spells.
