Ive been 2400+ on multiple classes. Ive gone high rated in arena in the past Ive gone high rated in RBGs in the past. Im not complaining from a perspective of ‘I dont know how to win because I havnt figured out the game mechanics.’
But seriously healers are so redonkulously powerful in output compared to their dps counterparts, if you have no healer you are simply unwinnably far behind, y oull be playing at a rating like 600 or farther down beneath your actual skill level. Just because you dont have this magical role present. Why is this? Why do we insist healers always be present? Why is the game designed in such a way as to assume everyone has a healer standing behind them at all times? Why not just tone them to be the power level of any ol dps class, and let tanks be the same?
Imagine the logic if it were applied to tanks. If tanks were like prot warriors have been on occasion, but across the board. If you didnt have a tank, you simply didnt have a prayer at winning. Why is this the way the game is made?
I dont play often anymore because healers are so badly designed its just not interesting to beat them. Its not fun to go through the motions. I doubt its fun for them either since some unintelligent person decided every single dps in the game has to have interrupts, stuns AND cc all at the same time and interrupts are off the GCD so there is a 0 commitment to interrupting(Not to mention how much it encourages kick botting, gross).
Am I on an island in thinking that healers should be a playstyle someone does if they want to, but shouldnt have more power than other role players? I feel like you could have people just be more innately tanky, have your hp bar last longer and matter more with healers slowing its decent to 0 down some rather than instant full healing every GCD, normally with instant casts.
I just played 30 2v2 matches as Enh Shadow for funsies with a friend. We encountred ONE double dps team. Every single other match was healer-dps. Where’s the fun in so little variety? Not to mention how unfair the advantage is in favor of healers. I just dont see why healers are so focused on FORCING them into the game. If no one wants to play a healer without them being bonkers overpowered and made-mandatory, thats fine. Let people play whats fun and make more things fun to play. Variety is the spice of life, I think. I think it’d be more fun if you sometimes fought healers, sometimes fought with healers, sometimes no healers were there at all.

100% agree.
Btw. strong dampening and almost every Melee having MS is part of the problem why there are no double Hybrid Teams anymore.
They simply can’t stand those crap with their mini Heals anymore.

I really want the next brawl to be Healerless RSS so we can stop having these threads.

Healers are more powerful? Is that why everyone wants to play them?

Healer didn’t instantly flop in opener. Clearly too powerful for the game.

Sounds like what you actually want is a completely different game. Good luck finding it.
What he said was Healers are mandatory not Healers are op.
Do you play this game since this xpac?
It seems so. So don’t talk then.
Almost evey expansion pure dps teams or Hybrid Teams were at least decent/viable.
In SL i reached 2,4 with Ele/SP in 2s and played Triple Ele in 3s on 2,1k+
Game isn’t balanced around 2v2.
It was balanced enough for having fun with a lot of comps.
Also Triple dps was viable in previous xpacs.

He said multiple times that healers are more powerful than non-healers, and that they should be made weaker so that it doesn’t really matter if you have one or not. I think it’s weird that anyone would think the problem with the game currently is that DPS players don’t have enough power compared to healers

He’s misdiagnosing the problem in 2v2 as “Healers are too strong” when in fact the reason that double DPS isn’t viable is because damage is so high.
When double DPS comps are viable in 2s, it’s because they’re able to have comparative longevity, not because healers are weak.

Eh this is debatable. It might have been more playable, but honestly only to certain ratings. A lot of comps is a stretch though.
Ya if healers are so powerful, why is there such a shortage? In fact there has always been a shortage at least in PvP. RSS has just brought that to the forefront.

Their power level is so high the average player can’t handle it.
Remember my friends, “with great power comes great responsibility”.
Just as Spider-Man was viewed as the bad guy sometimes, healers too suffer this fate.
So I agree, nerf rogues

People are so confused about this question.
All these statements have nothing to do with the power of healers. Healers have been more powerful than DPS for years. Healer are designed to survive a single dps or even 2 for infinite amount of time until dampening gets too high.
The reason why double dps is no longer viable has nothing to do with damage being too high. If that was the case, sub/fire mage would still be top tier as in SL. The reason is that DPS survivability has been gutted (ex: feral self heal), so healers are even more mandatory than before.
Damage too high? If that was the case, rogue/mage would crap on healer/dps all day. It’s not that damage is too high, it’s not higher than in SL. It’s that healers have way more personal and external survivability than dps, even hybrids (unlike in SL).
Rogue and Mage both gained defensive utility this expansion. Healer CDs (outside of Monk, which gained personals, and Priest, which gained swap) haven’t changed significantly. You could even argue that some are weaker after losing specific covenant abilities.
