Why are guild tabbards BoP? You’d think guilds would want to give those away for free to their members.
They cost almost nothing to buy.
The guild should have to pay you to wear their tabard.
No free advertising.
So you can’t send them to alts who were never in the guild.
That’s not at all how guild tabards work. They’re not encoded with an ID.
Ok, can’t send them to an alt who was never in a guild. Better?
Guild tabards change depending on which guild you are in. I’ve been in several, and the artwork changed to reflect the guild you are currently in, and is blank when you are not in a guild.
I use the Renowned Guild Tabard it’s BoA not BoP
It’s just blank if they’re not in a guild.
The Renowned Guild Tabard you can.
If I recall correctly, it carries a different pattern than the basic guild tabard.
Which can totally mess with your mog.
Just checked ingame the difference is very minor.
There are two types of guild tabards from guild vendor that are BOA, there is also a cheap one that costs a few silver or maybe one gold. I forget since it has been since cata the last rime i bought one. The BOA ones get moved around if a toon joins a new guild.
Used to keep them in the bank for new guildies. It wasn’t necessary to make them BoP.
