Why are gnomes able to be warriors?

Mechagnomes, I can see it a bit more. Goblins I can see it because they look like they can easily lift large amounts beyond what the weigh. However Gnomeregan gnomes? Whenever I see a female gnome using intimidating shout I am thinking. Thats cute, but you are not intimidating anyone really.

You realize that over 90% of a character’s strength comes from their armor, right? So what does it matter if it’s a gnome wearing it?

The same reason why they went back and allowed Blood Elves to become warriors. I mean, they can’t even hold a two-handed weapon properly, making them dumber than the dumbest “hit rock with bigger rock” class.

I find it hard to believe that Arthas would raise gnomes as death knights as well.

It is very simple.

  1. A gnome warrior would fight more intelligently than a race like say a Tauren warrior would.

  2. They probably also use more technological assistance.

  3. Most of our power comes from our gear.

  4. We may be small, but are deceptively strong.

  5. Our small size in itself is an advantage in that we can be faster and harder to hit.

Because hitting things with a sword is not complicated and every race should be able to do it.

A tauren should technically step on gnomes and squish them, just like mythic mekkatorque.
And all the other races other than goblins/dwarves would trample them.

Small target to hit sure. But a gnome has no speed advantage with their little legs, and their limited reach puts them at a massive disadvantage against any race other than goblins. Coming up against an orc or tauren would be suicide as the sheer brute strength of those races would crush a gnome no matter how armored they may be.

I actually started leveling a blood elf warrior once, and it looked so ridiculous hitting guys with my toothpick swords as a pencil lady that I had to make an orc warrior instead. It really bothered me.

That is where intelligence comes into play. Now obviously certain factors vary. A lot of it also has to do with common racial training and how they typically use their intelligence. Orcs being apart of a war culture, would probably have better training and skill in common types of direct fighting methods. However, a gnome warrior would likely use a number of techniques that orcs wouldn’t think to you that could make or break the battle.

Tauren are big oafs compared to a gnome. When they try to step on a gnome the gnome is already attacking in a different location.

The DK players are part of a Suicide Squad that Arthas raised just as fodder to flush Tirion out. He didn’t care, he just raised whatever he could.
