Why are gamers so naive?

I’m good, thanks. I’m here often enough to know that it was never really an issue.

The funny thing is I don’t disagree with you, players can never agree on anything long enough to make cohesive community requests. But you’re being such a jackwagon that I just had to point out that you are, in fact, employing a strawman.

You can keep saying that. I gave an example of a straw man earlier, you should find it so you can understand it better.

I understand fine, thanks.

I disagree that you understand it, thanks. I used an example of things people advocate for. This is a documentable request by a large amount of players and not indicative of the entirety of people’s desires, granted. Stop calling it a straw man if this is something people have been advocating for years to see in the game.

You can say you’ve been on the forums a lot, and I’m sure you have judging by your post count, but you don’t pay attention well if you haven’t seen this before. Thanks.

I think anyone will endure a grind if the game you make is fun. Grinds are actually more commonplace in video games today than they were back in 2004, but whether or not the game is fun is what will make doing it worthwhile.

Not remotely large, actually.

Between this and your “600 genders” comment it’s pretty clear you’ve got an agenda here that has nothing to do with the conversation at hand.

I mean this is the problem. You can like the food you make but if your customers stop coming to eat dinner at your restaurant eventually you’re going close the doors.

You think you do but you don’t

Just keep trying and you might be able to land one lol. Good luck!

I agree. For example, the one thing that I’ve seen that has always been 100% consistently amazing (at least for me) is the music. Even in that ending Sanctum of Domination cinematic that I absolutely hated, I adored the music. But, the musician creatives don’t necessarily get to feel good about how awesome their product is because the game designers decided to do something stupid.

The only problem with that logic is the gamers are the ones paying for the game. It doesn’t matter if the devs are happy with it.

Gamers only know what Youtubers tell them to, these days.

The interesting thing is, most topics relating to gender and sexuality would simply die out if not for the fact that some people feel the need to go into those threads and complain about stuff being forced down their throat - nevermind the fact that it’s like, one thread out of 250 that they could easily choose not to go into.

Sadly, if there’s just one mention, just one character, just one instance, out of hundreds or thousands - people start frothing at the mouth about the horrible agenda being forced down their throats.

lol you are so wrong like last i checked the devs aren’t funding this game out of their own pockets, players pay an expensive subscription to play WoW they have the right to complain when they don’t feel like they’re getting what they pay for

This is not true. People knew before BellularGaming and Asmongold how bad the state of the game is but given that the more prominent people are also acknowledging the situation, it gives them the empowerment to go through with their statements.

Wasn’t speaking of WoW players. You can see years ago what lemmings gamers are (in addition to being a great resource to exploit). But a fair amount in WoW do parrot phrases their streamer of choice uses and that’s it, sort of ironic to see them use buzzwords when slamming the evil MBAs in Blizzard, though, heh.

“People can’t think for themselves.”

“People have been saying WoW’s been dying since it came out.”

“The forums are only a fraction of the WoW community.”

Why do I consistently see these same three arguments parroted on the forums?

Well the first is hyperbole, but is frequently true. The other two are just facts.

Why are game developers naive and blindsided? Why dont they give players what they want? Why wont the Devs have fireside live chats ? Their Modus Operandi is short term systems over greener pastures.

:man_shrugging: :man_shrugging:

Wouldn’t say the first one is all that false, reading forums and playing games over the years, I certainly feel like gamers (like football fans) are easily-(mis)led idiots, is why I always laugh at the boycotts and the “Gamers Rise Up!” types that. Also, see how people only seek confirmation for the most part.

The second is just silly to trot out as past isn’t always prologue in a game’s success (although, I guess it may be a reaction to people coming in with X WILL KILL WoW!!) but the third isn’t wrong, although it is really all Blizzard has to go on, short of bombarding every player with a survey, heh.
