Shadow Priests are given the Despair rune to allow DoTs to not only crit, but crit for 200% damage.
DoT-based Warlocks are given the Pandemic rune to always have critting DoTs.
(Edit) Boomies get baked-in DoT crits from Moonkin Form.
But Ferals are forced to rely on a tier 2 bonus from now-obsolete gear? Where is our baked-in DoT crits? Why the lack of consideration?
And another (related) issue: Paladins, Shamen, Hunters, etc are allowed to PvP kill people in 1 GCD or less. Rogues and Warlocks are allowed to perma-CC targets to death.
But the moment a Feral gets an even remotely good PVP ability (fast-ticking Rake) it’s immediately nerfed? Why? Are only certain classes allowed to be really strong in PVP and other classes are forced to be bad?
Did you miss the part where this is in comparison to a Paladin just walking up and suddenly you’re dead? Or a Rogue stunlocking you and you have no chance to walk away at all? Dealing with a fast Rake is hard to overcome, sure, but it’s possible. Seal-stacking/twisting is not.
Added Boomies to the OP. Only left them out cuz I forgot they even got that. Thanks for the support of my argument.
Every single dot-based spec is given a baked-in way to have their DoTs crit… except for Ferals. In what way is this “different classes work differently?”
Feral steal breakers are nowhere near strong enough to classify them as a “stealth class,” IMO.
Ravage and Pounce are so weak they’re not even worth putting on your bars, and the stun from Pounce is short and also can’t be capitalized on in any meaningful way.
probably cause all those classes you mentioned that have dots dont have a dot that you can hit on someone and they die to that single dot in like 10 seconds and hits so hard that you cant heal it yourself and require an extra healer to keep you up with it.
If Rake was hitting too hard, that’s a reason to reduce Rake’s damage (which is happening - the t2 bonus is going from 40% to 10%).
It’s not a reason not to gate Feral DoT crits behind obsolete tier bonuses.
Also, their performance in Naxx has nothing to do with their viability in PvP (which is atrocious - Ferals either shift to bear and pray that Mangle kills their opponent before their boosted HP runs out, or they just roll over and die as a Cat. Really fun pvp, lemme tell ya).
But, if we do wanna discuss how they’re doing in Naxx, their Rake is currently about 50% of their damage, and that’s taking a 30% nerf. So they’re about to take a huge hit to DPS and will no longer be doing well in Naxx.
Anyway, I guess now that Rake damage is nerfed, we all go back to complaining about Flame Shock damage being too high and never getting addressed, right Shaman?
How does a Boomie benefit affect a Feral druid, at all? “If you completely respec and regear yourself, you can benefit from the thing!” is about as silly as an argument can get.
I would hope so as we don’t have conflag to proc backlash, and pandemic lets our dots crit not guaranteed crit.
Also just because one of your set bonuses was nerfed doesn’t mean it’s useless, the problem stems from stacking set bonuses can be obscenely strong.
They nerfed my naxx 4pc and chance are we’re STILL going to use it just because of how it works with the new scarlet 4pc. Allowing set bonuses to stack in certain ways can be insanely unhealthy.
I’m not asking for “guaranteed” crits. No DoTs crit at all without an ability to allow them to. Feral Druid gets this ability from 2pc tier 2. All I want is for it to be granted via something else: a rune, an ability adjustment, etc.
I main a Mage. I’m quite familiar with how awful they are in pvp. They also need help, but that’s for a discussion about Mages. This is a discussion about Feral Druids.
Not at all.
Again, I want the ability for my DoT ticks to crit to be more reliably gained than through the tier 2 2-piece set bonus. All I want is the same consideration every single other DoT spec in the game already has.
And, to be clear, that’s a chance for each tick of a DoT to crit, which is, default, 150% damage.
As for PvP, I don’t understand why tier 3 2pc had to be nerfed, considering Feral is one of the absolute worst PvP specs in the entire game because their abilities are expensive af, require positioning to hit hard, and all they can do is deal damage in leather armor.
Without that bonus, Feral is trash. With that bonus, they’re strong, but nowhere near as strong as many other specs, yet those other, stronger specs are allowed to exist and be degenerate for multiple seasons, but Ferals had to be nerfed immediately?
As a PvP player I fully understand why the t3 2p got nerfed.
In that small window of feral being monstrously over powered, I would have ferals open on me in booty bay and run away, leaving me to fully die to a single dot.
It’s less fun for the enemy player than getting rolling thundered for 12k.
