Remember when you needed a healer or a mage nearby to remove a curse? When there was some meaningful weight behind the curse debuff on a character?
It clearly ain’t like that anymore. These abilities are just garbage and not worth the globals.
Almost every single class without any explicit Remove Curse abilities has like 5 and a half ways to remove curses. Hell, just now I watched a warrior in a BG blitz drop Curse of Exhaustion FIVE. TIMES. IN A ROW. No healer or mage was nearby. Such immersive gameplay! It was like I could feel the disappointment my character was experiencing in that very moment.
Druids get immunity to it, because apparently, being an Azerothian animorph means, like, you’re incapable of ever being exhausted. Cool plot armor, bro.
Same goes for evokers. Apparently Dracthyr bodies can be exhausted, but their wings defy physics and have, like, infinite energy or something. Nuclear physics powers OP.
The best part is getting Agony to ramp up to near full stacks, only to have a teammate use CC on someone watch those stacks completely disappear. Oh well. Not like it was doing meaningful damage anyway.
(Good thing you guys nerfed it tho, amirite?)
The whole “curse” identity just needs to be replaced by something more meaningful. Curses are no more than mild inconveniences that can, for nearly all intents and purposes, be totally ignored or just easily removed. The ADHD-burst-fest that PvP has become, coupled with the ability homogenization between classes, has made these abilities obsolete.

I didn’t think curses need to be replaced. What they should do is find a way to allow certain abilities you’re already going to cast apply a curse. The smart cursing AoE ability from Venthyr in Shadowlands worked out fairly well, and with some design iteration it should be usable on multiple spells.

you are missing why they are removing your curse, it’s not like everyone can remove it, it’s more like almost all classes have some kind of “FREEDOM” effect, warriors are not able to remove weakness by themself, but they may remove CoE with blade storm/leap, same as hunters same as other locks and anyone with “remove all root slows effects on you”, so if you can use your brain cells you would CoE a warrior and wait for them to leap Bladestorm to apply to amplify CoE or use APC with CoW and he won’t crit during his burst
before complaining you gotta know how things work, and then you may complain otherwise is pointless, also if you are playing with someone who is removing your dots with CC why do you keep playing with them ? if you are referring to a bg well man that’s what you get when u BG as aff grow up and deal with it
Would like to see amp curse have a negative effect if the curse is dispelled.
Or make it not dispellable.

I’m not necessarily against something like that, either. If that’s a suitable solution to the problem, then fine by me. Let the curses stay.
But whatever the proper solution is, I think it’s pretty clear that the current implemention in PvP settings is just utter garbage.

Youre right that you need to understand how things work, but youre telling this guy to setup an elaborate strategy to make 1 curse stick. If youve ever played affliction vs a warrior then you know 90% of your efforts go into TRYING to kite and TRYING to get precogs which dont even help when you manage to get a few in a row, at least when playing solo shuffle lol
Your referencing 2 polar opposites of the spectrum here. Youre telling this warlock to do all this work to setup some good offensive efforts while surviving, while the warrior is literally holding W key spamming every button he has with 0 strategy behind it besides “sit lock” and closing every gap and becoming immune to every cc while all his abilities will cycle through the CD before lock can get off a single spell. Nevermind if he has a shaman with him grounding everything in between.
People say lock needs this or that in reality the melee classes need to be tuned down and pruned of CC and immunities, oh yea and healing. Because if soul rot being changed to shadow is in line with the “lore” then maybe melee shouldnt be healers dont you think?

But that would make melee less fun to play, and melee having fun takes precedence over all other aspects of the game. Double points if it makes warlock lives miserable.

Finally an honest unbiased opinion!

idk, I’m telling you how the game works and how you can manage to do what you want, if you like it fine if not role another class we are not living in unicorn land, and what we want is not what we get, u are playing aff you shouldn’t be spamming CoE you have another stuff to do before even think spamming CoE
youre totally lost arent you

lower gcd on curses to 3/4 second and allow curses to stack to 3 with the same penalty for all levels but only allowing one stack to be cleansed in a single dispel instance; immunities obviously clearing them all.
Could go the other way and have a pvp talent; Backlash - when one of your curses is dispelled you gain the opposite effect for X seconds. Tongues increases haste for 7 seconds
Exhaustion increases MS / cannot reduce below 100 for 10s
Curse of Weakness - Increases versatility for 7s
Another would be to just have a buffed demon armor, direct damage targeting you suffers 50% of regular curse effects.
Another is just rework exhaustion to be like the ice patches on sennarth, would be fun kiting melee if they’re sliding all over the place
