I am starting to wonder what might be wrong with them.
Right now the vast majority of people playing classic are still leveling.
The time to look at classic vs. retail numbers is a few months after the vast majority of people are level 60.
You don’t need to have played Vanilla to enjoy classic.
It’s natural that many people would move to retail after they cap out and complete the content they’re after.
They’re both awesome games and the sooner people realise they go hand in hand the better.
I’d say a lot of classic zealots would still play retail if they hadn’t completely changed the games direction

Bcoz they really want the numvers to be in their favor but they cant be bcoz its not possible to know. I will always be retail first but even i played more classic first 2 weeks than retail because it just came out. Now im 40 and ive had enough and im back to retail and classic is a once in a while over the weekend thing again. Plenty of ppl will do the same and both games will continue. When 8.3 comes out ita gonna be all about retail. When 9.0 comes out the same. And then most pbbly retail trolls will be going after classic on classic GD. Its the internet.
This is why I already got burned out on WoW Classic. And my friends who were all about leveling through questing immersive gameplay experience are now leveling through dungeon spamming.
I just went for playing Borderlands next coming months are going to be pretty busy anyway on new games. Rather play some retail and upcomming games.
Classic will lose steam in certain patches. It’s a boring game man, behind boring.
You see top streamers playing peggle in game to pass the time, goes to show how barren classic content truly is. You can already see the wear in their eyes straining to keep the hype going.
This is so true. The 5 people on my friends list that started classic when it launched are down to playing every other day a couple hours, from the 10-11 hours a day they were playing every day or so. They are still not level 60.
Classic really does take the air out of you after a short time.

If they enjoy a 15 year old game, that’s groovy. I still enjoy playing Castlevania IV or Chrono Trigger from time to time.
The issue is, people are far too focused on the negative aspects of both Retail and Classic while they still have merits within their own grounds. If you enjoy one over the other, great, if you enjoy both, even better.
If it’s spam that bothers you, then report and move on, pay the trolls no mind.

I know for a fact all classic players who bless retail with their presence get a halo over their head as soon as they hit lvl2 in classic.

People complain about Vanilla questing, but those turtle quests are some of the most boring content I have ever seen put into a video game.
