Why are classes so unbalanced and why isn't it being fixed?

Blizzard, I have never seen the game so unbalanced in the 10 years I have played.

Many players are very discouraged and I don’t know if you realize blizzard, it takes months if not years to become very good at a class spec. It’s not right to “force” people to switch to a class then having them not play it to its full potential, as players are class chasing.

I play a frost mage and I’m still learning after 10 years and yes I’m upset because frost was in the top four in beta and for some reason, well I know why, you nerfed ice bite so now we are on the bottom. I don’t like fire, it’s clunky and unforgiving, and arcane doesn’t have enough movement. I’m sick of getting crapped on in mythics and I blame you blizzard as I am a very good player.

Please balance the classes, it can’t be that hard to do. With the way it is right now, many players are canceling their subscriptions whereas if the classes were balanced you would be making more money.

For the love of God fix frost mages and of course, balance the other classes, and please hurry. Fire isn’t meant for everyone.

You need to realize you are causing a lot of friction between players because of the large discrepancy in damage.

A class shouldn’t be doing 2x the damage, if not more, than another class. You are only hurting yourself.

They get around to it in patch 10.1

The current models is to have 1/3 of specs completely broken and unplayable, another 1/3 brokenly OP. They rotate this so people will have to continully reroll classes in order to play the game at all.

Come mid-expansion they will come up with a band-aid fix that requires players to grind up one or more new currencies in order to buy something that will kind of fix their class. This will work great for elite players. Casuals will be forced to grind but get nothing out of the system.

LOL, oh that’s good.

It has been this way for a while.

In legion, some classes were just crap until we got the full effects of our artifact traits and rng gave us the proper legendaries.

In bfa some classes were complete garbage without the proper azerite traits.

Now we’re back to being wonky until full soulbind unlock, some classes missing legendary powers until certain raid boss/world boss/torghast wing opens.

Its weird but I don’t think anything is balanced for our “not finished” state, like mission tables.

It has always been this unbalanced. Just because your spec is on the bottom for once doesn’t mean it hasn’t always been. Try playing feral or sub or ww during BFA, actual trash for like the whole expansion.

What I’ve never seen before is the level of crying from players because of frost being such a popular spec. Actually blows my mind.

That’s far too long. Blizz should make changes ASAP. If the classes were balanced the the overall satisfaction of players would be high and that means more profit. The CEO of blizz should be pushing for that hard. Money is money.

Balance changes can’t happen that fast. The best bliz can do is set a regular interval for balancing. For example every 3 months we have a balance adjustment.

You can’t constantly keep on adjusting classes as players need time to test out changes.

I’m a frost mage temporarily playing fire until buffs happen, but I don’t see how fire is unforgiving.

Because you can mess up your combustion sequence? Because you can just fail to hold fire blasts for combustion? It’s actually an easy spec, it’s really not much if any more difficult than Frost.

Maybe it would be punishing if mechanics could wreck combust, but you have free movement during it. The worst that happens is you run away from RoP.

Lol. Top four.

Frost was so grossly, obscenely overpowered for most of beta that it was negatively affecting dungeon testing, because if there was a frost mage in the group nobody else had a chance to damage anything before stuff was dead.

Pretending that frost didn’t need a nerf from the beta levels of OP is just sad.

Remember when they said they wanted to balance “classes” instead of “specs”? This is what they meant.

Not saying it’s a good thing or that I agree with it, but it’s working as designed.

You must be kidding.

Balance is just a spreadsheet and adjusting numbers. Imagine you have 8 hours a day to balance 1 spec. You couldnt fix a spec in 8 hours?

Imaging that this was your only job, 8 hours a day, every day and you think you couldnt get closer than a 25% spread between the top and bottom specs?

Its ridiculous to think it takes months to do this…and it isnt just one guy doing all of the balance…

Apparently balancing won’t happen anytime soon as Blizzard is on holidays, and top 200 mythic hasn’t finished…

I’m expecting changes around Blizzcon if that, I wish sooner I’m currently playing Demonology… but what can you do…

We stuck now in a time gated game, we can’t change specs as is if you crafted a rank 4 legendary on a dead spec your screwed…

But hey this is what the players wanted, they didn’t want grinds.

If you haven’t figured out after 16 straight years of imbalances that they aren’t going to fix it I don’t know what to tell you.

I’d assume it being the holiday season is probably the biggest reason we aren’t seeing Blue posts or tweaks to the things that are in need.

I would prefer many small changes done at 2 week intervals then a single large nerf or buff that destroys specs or pushes them to far ahead every three months.

There are many changes that are easy to implemnt and would fix a lot of problems. For instance buff BM legendries. They under perform when compared across all specs/classes and would help to get closer to the middle of the pack. Do a small 5% increase to all BM legendries and see what happens over two weeks. If its to much reduce it by 2 1/2 percent if its to little you should know how much any additional buffs will have.

I love TBC model. All specs have specific role in raid. You can’t just stack top dps (well, maybe 4-5 bm hunters and/or warlocks). But you can always have spot in raid cause your spec is so unique it can’t be replaced.

Actually in retail it’s only reason for my demon hunter to be useful. I give 5% buff to casters. Just like in TBC. Otherwise i’m useless.

wars are trash, every spec. Doesn’t seem like it’s working as designed to me.

They dont have 1 person per class to balance, its usually only a few people balancing multiple classes while also doing other duties. Also once again you kinda ignored my point in that they still need time to test out changes. With the amount of skills and classes in this game it adds onto the time. Sure it’s easy to adjust numbers but the results of the changes takes more time to come.
