Why ... are chat channels greyed out?

I’m looking around a legion zone and there’s an assault going on so I joined in … I had a question and tried to ask it in /1 general and I couldn’t

when I look at my chat window options … /1 /2 and /3 are greyed out?

what does that mean? is that right?

There have been issues as of late with certain zones missing their chat options.

There are a few things you can try to help resolve the issue.

huh, ok

I did created a class trial char on PTR … but I don’t see how that would affect retail

I’ll have a look

EDIT: resetting stuff did not work … strange … is there a way to tell if I’m squelched? I didn’t interact with anyone or chat at all … while doing legion world quests I got auto invited to one group and declined another … that’s it

There does seem to be something going on with Val’Sharah right now. I just noticed that you don’t enter the zone chat at all when you cross over the borders.

I left Suramar’s zone channel, but never entered Val’Sharah’s.

EDITED TO ADD: Azsuna’s, Stormheim’s & Highmountain’s zone channels aren’t appearing either.

Suramar, Dalaran, & Broken Shore seem to be the only zones with working chat channels at the moment.

Even after performing a full UI reset, the issue is persisting.

ok, thanks, that’s good to know, I don’t have many addons but stuff can get messed up, good to know it’s most likely not that

This was also happening with Mulgore and Borean Tundra a few days ago.

It always happens in Northrend and Broken Isles for the last few years so I say it is bugged
