Why are BFA Flasks and Food Better than Shadowlands?

So I have recently realized that BFA Greater and even Normal Flasks are better currently than the Flasks we can make in Shadowlands. The Base Primary stat boost of a Shadowlands flask is 24, where as the base stat boost for regular BFA flasks is 25 and Greater Flasks is 38!

I sure hope that this is an oversight on the part of the Devs or that some how since we area dead in Shadowlands, can only use Deadman’s Flasks. I also notice the same goes for the food and the buffs it gives, all of is currently better with BFA stuff than it is Shadowlands.

This certainly shouldn’t be the case in that a prior expansions Flasks and Food are better than the next expansion.

EDIT: Solutions was provided and answer giving in forgetting about the scaling effects with leveling in my excitement of getting ready for Xpac.

Well… That will be fixed. Most likely by making BfA stuff not usable in SL.

Well I posted a similar topic in general and I was told over there by I guess some one in the Beta that the new food and flasks scale with level. So at level 58 For example, it gives +49 Intellect ect. for a flask and the same goes with the food. So when reading the tool tip via the unlearned spells the stuff is being scaled down.

You guys are still in semester? We went early and finished this week. So unlucky my dude

Rofl just realized i’m in the wrong food thread :p.

But yeah finish on the 15th of December here, we started late due to Covid.

Fun part is that i also work 10 hours shifts on the week ends so can’t even rush there either (i’m 29 -.-).

Really thankful there’s close to no raid prep to do this time around.

That’s been happening for a good long while now. BfA flasks scale with level as well.

Doesn’t sound like a hard thing to hotfix. I imagine its going to be little things like that they will iron out during the 2 weeks pre-season.

probably a scaling issue, once you get to 60 im sure the SL stuff will be better.

Conspiracy theory here, but maybe they have been made worse to make weapon oils/temporary weapon enhancements scale better

They don’t need to hotfix it - they certainly didn’t at the start of BfA with the still-vaguely-viable Legion flasks.

The conceit the devs have run with for years now is that your current max level is still the “old” expansion once the new one launches. So for that first of ten levels you’re massively underpowered, because everything’s scaled as though it was fresh-max-level gear from last time. When you hit 51, all stats become Shadowlands stats and the process of making you weaker and weaker as you level up can begin in earnest

This annoying “plateau” level has affected heirlooms of course, but it’s also affected flasks.

For whatever reason, that “torture level” of terrible stats continues to be a thing. So there’s very likely nothing to hotfix as it’s “working as intended” (in other words, aren’t you level 51 yet? It’s been 10 minutes, get on with it!)

Nods, as I put in as an Edit to my original post, another forum user on another post and I think a couple here, reminded me of the scaling that takes place on such items. Something I sometimes forget exists while doing all this research for the Xpac and rushed to make a post when I saw this disparity.
