We have donuts.
Combat daggers is perfectly viable and what I played in Vanilla Classic.
For Boss DPS sure, for overall trash and boss no chance. Swords is simply better.
Youâre literally in a thread about someone asking about why the Alliance is the dominant faction. My wordâŚ
Yea 100% this.
With the possible exception of some weapon advantages (the scope of the impact is as yet unknown in this thread), the key drivers for why one might want to play Alliance over Horde donât seem to be present in SoD. Yet people still seem to prefer Alliance.
I was hoping for some discussion and elaboration on why this might be the case. Iâm genuinely curious, I actually kinda expected everybody to go Horde this season.
I think most of the main factors have been mentioned. I do think funnily enough that the biggest reason is that Horde doesnât have Blood Elves.
We have a simple folk in this community.
Paladins are also OBSESSED with being a paladin⌠I know so many ppl who are like Esfand or Mcconnell. It is their life, their character, they have tattoos and art and toys⌠they cant possibly play any version of wow without being a ret paladinâŚ
Idk what the obsession is⌠its so weird.
I love shadowmeld so Iâll always go ally. I tried horde in classic, was alright, prefer ally city/zones more.
thats what i dont get⌠playing ally is so bad in classic⌠navigating the world is brutal. Horde have guarded zeps and huge bases in each zoneâŚ
Which is why we have the faction problem that weâve had for like, a decade. Its easier to get things done when youâre on the winning team.
Paladin is better than shaman in this bracket overall. Will definitely change in 40 and again in 50.
Alliance still have the advantage with Salv unless Iâm behind the times. Plus, I think itâs just easier to level as ally.
Paladins donât get it until level 26, so itâs not currently a thing in SoD. Also, I believe Blizzard said they would add something comparable for Horde.
Maybe! Itâs tough to say. Iâve only gotten as far level 30 on my highest Hordie, but I can honestly say thatâs a lot of bias there. Iâve just always played Alliance. I definitely find their zones easier to level in, but is that familiarity?
Guild went Horde for HC and I wasnât crazy about it. Went back to Alliance for SoD and Iâm enjoying leveling again.
Considering that the vast majority of streamers are alliance it most certainly does.
Because they have stacked racials in Classic, right now SoDâs level 25 lcok favors them because most of the rune locations are in alliance territory, and most of the resources you need to farm for are in alliance territory, or territory that is contested and alliance can still easily get to.
Also all the streamers went alliance because itâs flat out easier due to paladins being the most powerful support class in the game, not only getting all their old benefits in classic but basically getting to be discount shamans too, AND windfury is now easily accessible by the alliance through druids, so all the benefits horde had over alliance are now all gone.
In short. Alliance is easy mode. Period, and everyone wants to be on easy mode.
Itâs wild seeing all these ridiculous answers talking about min-maxing when this is the actual and singular reason.
Alliance is humanoid and pretty or cutesy or cool. Horde is ugly and bestial and âmetalâ. People like the former more than the later on average. End of story. There is nothing deeper to it when it comes to the Alliance being more popular in 2004-2007.
Paladins. Holy paladin, at endgame, is the most busted healer Iâve ever played in any mmo. Theyâre also the best pvp healer, in part because they wear plate. They also have great buffs, like Salv.
Things might be different in SoD, obviously.
Ah yes, the massively game changing checks notes goblin jumper cables.
Meanwhile tauren can get ahead of the curve with herbalism for the next phase.
we have warriors of the light. Horde has mad cows.
