It seems so weird and arbitrary that Gnomergan drops a bunch of useful trinkets and they’re all 30 minute cooldowns. Why not 10? 10 would mean they’re more useful then 1 or 2 uses in a Gnomergan clear. I know the old way of trinkets in classic was to make the cooldown so incredibly long it was practically useless. But isn’t SoD about playing fast and lose with what we can get for loot? Give us a hot fix Blizz that reduces the Gnomergan trinkets down to at least 10 minutes.
uh maybe cuz you’re lvl 40 save some power creep for the later levels dude.

My brother in Christ: Power creep doesn’t exist in SoD because it’s been here all along since you got your very first Rune. Why worry about something that’s already here? Plus, we’re just going to end up getting rid of the Trinkets for the next phase’s trinkets.
There’s only 6 bosses and a 3 day lockout.
Use it on one boss every 3 days.
Where is this mentioned?
The only thing from Gnomer I want the CD reduced greatly on is.
Aragriar’s Whimsical World Warper - Item - Classic World of Warcraft (wowhead.com)
It’s “mentioned” in all the newly created loot we’ve seen in the 2 raids we’ve had and the new craftables the team have made available to us. Not just the craftable epics but the craftable +spell damage/healing greens they’ve createad for SoD. For one thing, they’ve played fairly fast and lose on the stats they’ve given to us for the loot at the respective levels. And another being the fact we’ve gotten trinkets at all at lvl 25 and now lvl 40. Oh and the incredibly good for their level epics in BFD and now in Gnomer. If they’re willing to go that far, why not farther with the cooldown time on the trinkets?

Trinkets should all be 2-5mins CD for SoD
easy enough to give you an upgrade quest for a slightly better version with a 15 min cd then next phase an slightly better one than that with a 5 min cd.
my brother in christ
have mercy
the pvp tears would be cataclysmic
LOL ikr? even tho it would make such an insignificant difference. at best you could get pally freedom from the healer gnomer trinket
I think 5 minutes isn’t a bad idea honestly. It would make value them outside parsing 1 boss twice a week.
Personally, I liked the idea that trinkets were “fun” items that added some flavor or did something silly. I hate the way they basically turned into stat sticks in later expansions. I liked keeping several different ones in a bag to swap out for a different weird effect while others were on cd. Like in vanilla where one pull I can zap everything with Ramstein’s, then swap that out for the cannon the next pull. They should keep trinket doing little things like that for flavor, even though I know every melee class in the game will have the stat trinket from Hinterlands next phase. That kind of trinket design is just lazy poop.
Alternatively, I think they should use trinkets to “spice” up character classes a little more in SoD. The Gnomer trinkets are a good example of that with things like the Chicken that has a chance to give a great DPS buff but most of the time just makes everyone in my raid laugh at the chicken attacking Mekka Dork.
Lol sounds like you didn’t play classic or tbc. Big CDs with consequences are a cornerstone of old WoW. You have to be smart and strategic with big cds, because you are only getting 1 chance for a while.
that trinket is pretty sweet ngl. 2 min cd on that would be insane.

I did indeed play original old wow right up till WotLK. Big CDs with TRINKETS wasn’t exactly a cornerstone of that era. Hell, trinkets in the Vanilla era were incredibly rare and useful on-use ones even more so. Hence why things like Blackhand’s Breath got so much longevity even to raiders. Most trinkets in vanilla were just stat sticks at best. But just because trinkets in that era did have long cool downs, does not mean SoD trinkets need to be long CDs. It’s not a “law” written in stone. SoD is supposed to be about bending rules an experimentation. The original vanilla PvP trinkets for one only have 5 minute cool downs. Why not the same for the PvE Gnomergan ones?
I couldn’t agree with this more. 3 - 5 min sounds great and I don’t see it being too game breaking. I personally think PvP trinket should go down to 2min like Wotlk.
A pvp trinket is way different than a pve trinket. A pve trinket is a big cd you should use at the right moment and carries risk. PvP battles are short, and trinkets are meant to balance the equation from fight to fight.
