Why Are All The Female Forsaken Faces So...Happy?

Wow! I got inspiration for a new Horde character! I was going to make a Hunter, and I’m working out the backstory as I go, but as I’m making the character I take a look at the Forsaken customization options…

All but two of the faces have this weird, way-too-happy smile on her face.

I get that there’s a saying, ‘Dead and lovin’ it’, but I feel like it’s being taken too literally here…

What gives?

well, the answer to your question would violate the TOS…

I’m not allowed to say what they’re doing that makes them so happy but I’ll give you a hint.

Being dead and not needing to eat or work for a living means you have alot more free time for recreational activities.

Dying may have have given them a very slight, teeny, tiny case of massive brain damage.

I don’t know and I hate the WoD update for Forsaken women. Ruined my two favorite faces, the sewn and skull face options.

Why are some of you saying that you’re not allowed to say?

What…what kind of deep dark secret are you hiding?!

(Also I’m going to make her a Tauren instead because I really can’t fit the character I have in mind onto a goofy smiling Forsaken. I literally can’t.)

I always found them to be overly cute. Even in their old models. Always made me think that the combination of too cute face + posture that they were trying to be as small as possible. Like they were scared to take up space, and were attempting to placate anyone from thinking they’re a threat.

Anyway, undead need to stand upright.

Exactly that! I was going to make her a bit darker and edgier, a spearwoman who’s seen too much and now continues to be exposed to horrible things…

That’s awfully hard to play out when she’s just like, "WOW! Being dead rocks!   "

I don’t mind cute of course! I’m pretty adorable, I’d say! But…that’s not really what I wanted my Forsaken to be. And the other two options just aren’t all that appealing.

I think with the revamped models each possible face is supposed to be capable of a variety of potential expressions and not just be “this character is permanently set to angry, that one is permanently set to happy”.

But you don’t necessarily get to see that in the character creator. Maybe it would help to add a feature that lets you watch your current character setup do a variety of different emotes or other animations? (Barbershop too, since the same issue would apply there.)

The reason why I swapped from Forsaken to Void Elf. They have the same problem of a one-mode face, but at least it’s one with a nasty attitude. I do miss my rotters, though…

I’ve always had the opposite reaction. There was one face that didn’t look like she came out of a horror movie.

Their biological clock stopped. You would be happy too.

Cuz they’re not dead. Or “Undead”, whatever that means. Sorry, I get confused.

I’ll agree that one is traditionally pretty vs pure rot. My opinion is based solely on expression. My velves look like they have more murderous intent than any of my undead do.

My undead look like they want to invite you in for tea and repair the holes in your shirt over crumpets with how non-threatening their expressions are.

finally free to enjoy their lives
