Why are all Dracktir Blood Elves?

Ok, so why can’t a Dracktir be a gnome just like Chromie? Or a Night elf like Ysera? Why are they all very similar to Blood Elves? Why can’t they be any race they want and switch between them on the barber shop?

You don’t even need Dracktir specific customization for all races, just copy paste their normal customization. If needed some races might be excluded from this treatment, for example worgen, void elves and lightforged since they are just corrupted versions of their base race.

I think this would offset a lot of the complaints about the Dracktir being all Evokers and all Evokers being Dracktir. This would instantly make the Dracktir the most interesting race in game.

Female Dracthyr use the human model. The male model is the Belf one. But they definitely should have opened it up. Even in the expac itself you have dragons that pose as many races for their visage. Even Pandaran forms.

I haven’t heard of the Dracktir race before.

Dracthyr, on the other hand the males use Thalassian models and the females use human models. The female faces look like they’ve had too much plastic surgery imo. I hope at some point they open them up to all races. Also for the release, the art for the females were using Thalassian models, so at some point they changed them to humans.

I’m guessing the devs just went with whichever race was most popular with each body type. They decided to give them a whole ton of customization, but I think it would have been better if the visage form could be literally any race and less customization. Just a few things like horns, maybe some scale options, new eye options, whatever.

I agree. I’d have preferred to pick any race for the Visage form at the cost of far less customization.

That is also my guess. Monster races are very unpopular so they gave two very popular alternatives for when you are out of combat.

Horde Dracthyr saw only Blood Elves in ORgrimmar.

While Alliance Dracthyr saw many Void Elves cosplaying as High Elves.

They thought it was the easiest way to fit in.

They probably could have left visage forms as normal race models, opened it up to allow any race to be a visage, and people would’ve been happier.

Huh, they always looked more human than blood elf to me.

Not really. They’re still bargain drakonid in their combat form. Turning into an orc or a gnome or a Tauren isn’t going to make those stupid lizards any less horrific to look at.

Dracthyr should not exist.

It should have been that every race gets evoker and the dragon form is part of the class.

No special customisation needed for visage form.

Yes, but the dragon form is more analogous to the feral druid cat form, or the boomkin owl. The customization is mostly on the visage form which can wear armor.

Edit: but yea, having more buff versions for the dragon form is also a must. There are tons of cool models to pick from.

I think it is too late for that but this would be the ideal implementation for me.

Because Joe the toilet cleaner at Blizzard said I pick these races when they asked him to choose.

Likely just didn’t want another “reskin” of Belves. Or it was changed for varieties sake. To give them access to two races at launch rather than just 1.
Makes me wonder if we could maybe see them be given another race to change into at some point during Dragonflight.

Time gating quest line future content having excuse.
