Yeah because I don’t like most of the current ones except for a few. I’m sure some people enjoy them. I’m sure some people hate them. I mean I’m glad that you’re a person who doesn’t care what form you’re in or how you look but I do. I wish Blizzard would add more forms. Especially for Balance since they’ve had the same one since the beginning of time. Sure it’s textures are updated but that’s it. Oh what glyph of stars? Really? One glyph? Like come on.
I could go for this.
And maybe 1 skin for Bear/Feral per expansion.
But they don’t need to come out with 10 different variants
Oh there was 4 covenants, they dropped the ball on that…That’s 8 forms per playable druid race. That’s a lot of work that people are not thinking about.
Who said this? I have my favorite, but I alternate through them so I don’t get burned out on one and enjoy as many as possible. Except the owlcat. That one is stupid lol
You are strawmanning hard dude. No one is saying “All cool forms should be accessible to casuals.” The comment is “Why are all cool forms inaccessible to casuals?”
Adding a glyph for some new feral or guardian forms doesn’t undercut old forms. People will see it and know “oh hey that guy used a glyph.”
Adding new color variations of old forms doesn’t undercut old forms.
Bear players still know the difference between the Red or Green pvp bear forms and light blue one that takes 5 minutes.
Frankly, if we can have 98123649083275 soul shapes that are basically ded at the end of shadowlands, I don’t see why Blizzard can’t toss Druids a new set of form models once a patch.
I’d love to see something like the Moonkin’s glyph of stars for restoration, like a caster form but with barky skin and some leaves like a Dryad or Spriggan, instead of full-on cartoonish tree-of-life.
There are so, so many great cat and bear models in game. Why can’t we look like them?
Something like the Hunter tame-animal system where instead of taming a beast we learn it’s shape for one of our uses.
It was literally the first post.
Soul shapes are usable by everyone.
Not just one class.
You’re asking for special treatment.
Entitled much?
Thing is I argue for both sides. I don’t think something should necessarily been given away either. The Special Snowflake mentality is equally as toxic a mindset as much as the Elitist Superiority mentality.
I can agree that sometimes it is the accomplishment behind getting something that makes you enjoy it more but can’t you still feel that pride after something gets made easy later on?
If you got a transmog or a cool mount or etc. out of a Mythic difficulty Raid when it was current content and difficult would you lose your feeling of pride at your own accomplishment knowing that next expansion or 2 or 3 expansion now someone can waltz through that raid and get it too?
If so then you should reevaluate your own mindset if your own accomplishments can be rendered to dust by someone having an easier time down the line.
I mean back in Legion I actually took a Hunter through Halls of Valor Mythic solo and after like less than 20 tries was able to get Fenryr as a pet. I don’t feel bad knowing that everyone now and last expansion can just go in there and face roll it easy to get their own shiny Fenryr. I am proud at myself for beating that challenge when it was difficult and still current content. I don’t have any stupid pixellated achievement I can wave in someone’s face that I got it back when it was difficult only the knowledge that I did it and I am proud of for my own sake. I don’t need someone else validation at a challenge well done to feel good about myself nor proof to display to others to make them believe if I tell someone what I did.
I can’t grasp this thought process of something can only be good if almost no one can have it or that only us select few can be privileged enough to have this or that. I am not just talking about the Mage Tower with this either. At same time I also don’t understand why everyone would want everything handed to them like some sort of Participation Award.
At the end of the day though, if you like something that everybody else also has why should that make it any less special to you especially since there is more than just pixels there but the memory of what you did to get it? If they nerf something later you still know what you did to achieve it back when you did and the sense of pride you had for overcoming that obstacle and that should be good enough.
I’ve personally given up on the Mage Tower BS and feel better for it since I find it obnoxiously difficult and unlike everyone else I am not going to smash my face into a brick wall 100+ times and subject myself to that level of masochism for what amounts to shiny pixels. Nothing it worth that level of torture and stress especially not a flipping video game which is SUPPOSED to be fun.
If you don’t feel challenged enough can always do what some people do and create you own challenge too, like how people did the Ironman Challenge in WoW.
Yup
I still ride my H-Rag mount even though its trivial now and anyone can get it. We spent months on that guy. It still gives me pride knowing I killed one of the hardest bosses to date. The fact that little Timmy got it 5 years later doesnt change how I feel.
There will always be a new mount to take its place.
On to the next one.
Thats fine.
Im sorry youre giving up, but… in the end its your time you you can spend it how you feel.
Just dont turn around and complain about not having more forms when blizzard just gave you a fresh one.
You decided it was too difficult.
Remember that.
It’s a game that people spent their real life time and effort on. They should be rewarded for that.
Then people should go and farm gold instead of complaining about the difficulty.
It isn’t in the first post and you know it.
The first post says:
“We want more forms but Blizzard always seem to enjoy locking them behind difficult content. Why can’t we have some glyphs for cat and bear already?”
It’s asking for more forms to be available via glyph. It is not asking for locked forms to be available via glyph. That is a destination you extrapolated and then strawman argued about throughout the post.
Is it “Entitled-Special-Treatment”? Maybe, if your logic is that any time invested in something class specific is “entitled” and not “good for the game to add depth to class fantasy.”
Hunters get new tamable creatures added very frequently. It’s a core part of their class. Forms are a core part of Druid class, and a few new forms throughout the patches isn’t exactly the tallest of orders.
Blizzard gives new form
Its not.
We already do.
There are dozens to choose from and even a glyph to cycle through them.
Go away.
But aside from one or two forms, they’re all available. People just have to go do the quests. It’s fairly easy and straight forward. Why do we need glyphs when a couple hours of questing or a simple 15 minute lucky run will give you what you want?
Why is it so hard for people to just get what they want the way it was intended?
Aspect is quite different though. These mobs are all copied and pasted and just wander beside the Hunter. A new playable skin is considerably different and more complex. I would argue for an expansion based themed form per new expansion (1 for bear, 1 for Feral, and for the love of god [although i like it] give Boomkin a new look lol).
Locked behind a nice lovely lore quest (something that the Druids are specifically doing in that expansion for example)
Grizzle, its about adding some new forms to the game, available via glyph. Not about taking existing forms and changing the way they are acquired.
They want you to regret that you chose to play the game.
Cool forms? Which one out 6 ones are you referring to?
Blizzard is just being a lazy scrub. For real. They should be added new forms every expansion.
Which 6 forms are you referring to? Most cat forms from Legion are drab.
Fair enough…by why by glyph?
Why should a new player who doesn’t like their racial form have to do very hard content and/or grind endlessly to get one that is appealing to them?
I think they should make available for purchase as glyphs the wild bear, cat, and stag models that are already in the game as mobs. Extra cool stylized stuff can be limited.
Troll cat form is weird. Troll bear form sucks donkey eggs. I put up with that atrocity for years. There’s no reason I shouldn’t have been able to buy a polar bear glyph like the bears in winterspring, or some random brown or black bear.
You mean the ones that just change the color of our form? Because I don’t recall seeing many cat/bear glyphs
I dont think glyph, specifically, is important. The important aspect is that, like in legion, there be a variety in accessibility for new forms so all players can access some of them.
Legion added skins for questers, skins for pvpers, skins for pve challenge modes, skins for dungeons.
It’s nice that people who want a challenge have something extra special, but its also important that the rest of the player base have something interesting within reach.
You keep saying this word… Glyph.
You know the forms are now in the barber shop, right?
You unlock them by doing content.
Are you really suggesting that Blizzard just release a bunch of glyphs like its 2012, so that you can change the look of your forms simply by visiting the AH?
