I have just started leveling in shadowland (profile on here is not up to date) and I’m doing so little damage. my only combat option is to basically tickle the enemies to death. the mobs are also 2 levels higher then me what is going on. is this normal for SL or am I doing something wrong please let me know.
Because never getting stronger, and only getting weaker when you make the mistake of leveling up, is Blizzard’s idea of fun. They are terrible at balancing and scaling.
They need to get rid of scaling. I don’t want everything to constantly be at my level. It removes any feeling of character progression.
I checked your gear. Are you trying to level as restoration? if so that’s your issue. If not it could be you’re trying to tackle content that’s too difficult. Reply and I’ll try to help you more.
I agree. Scaling is absolute garbage.
I also checked your gear and it seems to me your iLevel is really really low, even if you were still doing BFA content. Is this a long neglected alt?
You should be able to pick up some gear off the AH cheap and up your iLevel quite a bit. That will help a lot if you are going to be doing ShadowLands at 49. I’ve been moving my alts to shadowlands, including a few I moved at level 48, and haven’t had any issues. However, all of them are at a considerably higher gear iLevel than the character you posted on.
You might be getting ahead of the story then. Enemies don’t scale the first time you level through if I remember correctly. You might have to do some side quests, pvp, dungeons to catch up.
Also like other posters pointed out the more you level the weaker you get. 55 to 60 is tough for some classes. Oh and it gets better at 60 as enemies hp and damage increases as your ilvl increases.
Also some classes are like wet noodles. As a DK, I just facepull 3-4 mobs and kill them, as a rouge if I got second mob and my blind/vanish on CD, I’m pretty much dunzo (yeah, sprint with daze is so much fun). Feral feels pretty much ok, with constant self healing. Spriest/warlock is just a breeze, you don’t notice mobs. Hunter and warrior… well, they had some nice gear after pre-patch event, was quite easy.
But scaling is total joke. Got on my warlock 150-ish ilvl, got into dungeon, lvl 52 mage face rolling on 2 buttons (literally, AE + AM) almost doubles my damage. What the heck is this? I thought by getting better gear you suppose to get better?
wait till you 60. If you play boomkin you will blow things up. I do suggest feral to level. if get the rotation down and keep enemy stubn. You can breeze through most stuff. My personal opinion is to find a dps add/leveling you like.
I saw a comment you were resto. I have a resto druid and it helped a lot picking up that talent to go kitty. Then while questing use the kitty form it helps a lot.
If your not coming out of BfA in 100 gear it can be a bit more challenging when you enter Shadowlands.
That’s not quite true. It depends on class and your way of playing. I made fresh spriest, leveled till 48 and instantly jumped into maw. I don’t get any problem with killing 2-3 mobs at the same time.
This is true, but when I first check the OP they were level 49 with an average gear iLevel of less than 50. Some gear was under level 30. It looks like the OP has obtained some new gear and is now Level 51 so I’d guess things are starting to get a bit easier for them
I saw a bit of a difference when I hit Shadownlands on a 50 in 100+ average level gear than on the same class in 68 -78 average. (I forgot exactly but there was a difference especially on a mage.) Higher item level = easier game.
It is because you have not joined the Maldraxxi lower life form!!! They are gonna clap PUMP clap you up!
