the game is treating both of my characters exactly the same… had 2100 mmr while ranking up… games were normal… win a game, lose a game, win a game, lose a game, etc… then like as soon as i hit 1700 actual rating it’s like the game picks me to be in preplanned losing matches… i cant win a game to save my life all of a sudden… on my warlock i have won 1 game out of my last 10 and i just hit 10 losses in a row on my pally.
You get paired with people 600 rating under you. Especially healers its not uncommon to get paired with a healer up to 1000 rating under you because that was blizzards bandaid solution to long que times cause of healers.
I dont know of any particular affliction of being in higher rated games other then having a higher likelihood of facing opponents that know wt(f) is going on.
While playing your Ret, do you die in 2 seconds once you have Forbearance?
Do you have defensives dispelled before they expire?
Are you limited to healing yourself for 1/16th of your health per cast due to Ret specific healing pvp nerfs?
Do you find yourself the focus of most of your enemy’s team even while not at an objective so they can keep you in the graveyard?
The easy damage rotation of Ret is a trap. With no MS, Disarm, knockback, dispelled defensives and mobility aid, highly visually telegraphed movement and Avenging Wrath attracting all manner of slow, fears, and stuns, it is rough out there for a Ret, or Prot Paladin.
If you are actually productive at much more than being a CC sponge as Ret I’m proud of you.
i just finally won a game on my pally after 12 losses in a row and i got 0 rating for winning even tho the opposing team had a much higher mmr… wat is going on here lol
Something similar happened to me as well. Got up to 1750 easily winning most games then lost like 10 in a row, then won and got no rating increase.
I dont know enough about the system to give an explanation, sorry.
Could be a ‘rigged’ system and you only get as high / win games that other players want you to get.
Like there is no ‘official’ queue as group button but im pretty sure there are groups running around.
Take it easy, this thing is in the experimental phase.
I fell from 2.3k MMR to 1550 in just 2 days. In a Kotmogu match, a hunter dc’d, and we lost 1470-1500. A druid on our team said we did well considering we were one man short and kept it close. But then that same hunter dc’d again in the next game, and I ended up on a 7-game losing streak.
Now I’m stuck in the 1600 MMR bracket. And guess what? I saw that same druid on my 1610 MMR team LOL.
MMR shouldn’t be roller coastering that hard unless you’re still doing placement matches or you’re deliberately throwing all of your games.
(On a side note, Blizzard should put an indicator in the UI that a player is currently doing their placement matches. Maybe it should cover your CR until placement matches are complete.)
MMR and matchmaking stuff should have been tested last season when BGB was a brawl. It’s worrisome that this is happening now.
I wonder if Blizzard is even aware of this. I hope they’re not waiting until after the first season of TWW officially begins to resolve these issues.
On my pres evoker I lose literally every game in blitz. Like not even joking, I have a 30ish% win rate. All my other toons are 50\50 like normal. I really try and heal as best I can, I pump heals hard but I realised it’s the bracket I’m in. Lower brackets are impossible to heal when no one peels for you and no one plays objectives.
mmr means nothing as its team based and with 8 people 1-2 stupids ruins all of it. They need to add solo mmr based on how well you do in dmg/heals/pickups/steals/etc. as long as its for 8 people, unless ur lucky at the start and get out of the 0-2000 bracket quick u will get stuck. mains at 2400+ and an alt is stuck at 1700 bc no matter what there are 3-4 afk lol.
That’s not going to work because what counts is different in every case - in other words, context matters; also, what counts isn’t always so easy to quantify and measure. Not everything comes down to HPS/DPS/Flag caps/EFCs killed/Nodes capped, etc. If you think this is all that counts… you’re gunna have a bad time.
