Alright now when i say this I cannot express this enough with words how much I would love to beta test classic (actually test it not just play it) but, Whining because Blizzard is promoting it heavily with streamers will literally get you nowhere.
Just be patient guys. August is not that far away and your beta option may possibly even be added to your client as you whine on the forums. 8.2 comes soon giving us new content to hold even the hardcore players attention for a month at least. Now that being said why is it always taken so personally when someone doesn’t get invited into the beta?
The common “wow, don’t want actual vanilla players testing it” comment is really annoying because the 3 people i know who got in are original vanilla players. As well as they also do want the eyes of a newer player who never played vanillas perspective too. Can we try to be a little less toxic about all this guys? Come on now.
Yeah, I don’t fully get the infighting in the community… Its honestly rather selfish minded. I mean, I get the desire to have the Beta and to finally begin experiencing Classic, reliving Vanilla once more, but honestly the streamers are kinda a boon for the community.
Hate them or love them they are the ones promoting Classic, getting it out there, spreading the word and showing it off. Not to mention that they are legitimately into the game, imagine if instead Blizzard went the route of hiring actors to show off classic like other big AAA companies do with their games with scripts and what have you.
I get that people don’t like these streamers but they are literally part of the community just like all of us and are passionate about the game as well.
I mean, that’s fair. To a degree, I am as well. I just can’t “get” the lengths of jealousy some people go through though. Seems counter productive when honestly this is good for Classic.
Yeah the sad thing as well is that you’d expect most Classic players will be a bit older and more mature, but it doesn’t seem like the second part applies in a lot of these cases.
It’s honestly becoming ridiculous at this point. At a time we should be celebrating that Classic draws near, people are nit picking and throwing the baby out with the bath water
What happens today does not dictate what will happen on launch. Y’all need to calm down seriously. You can list your complaints and opinions without all the threats and toxicity. It’s becoming a yikes fest.
Exactly thank you. Plus why burn yourself out on a game that isn’t even out yet? The streamer hate is ridiculous because I know its like watching everyone have fun but you but, this is honestly a great time to learn by watching them or just listening to them in the background for those who didn’t play it ever, like myself. I think we should all just be happy to get to either relive vanilla or be able to finally experience it.
This. If I had beta access of course I’d be in playing it, but the fact I don’t and if I don’t get it then that means when it comes out the actual game will be a fresher experience for me.
agree everything except streamer promoting classic, not every streamers is doing that. Some were just there to make money and not care what games they are promoting
Streamers behave like the worst elements in a guild. I saw their kind of behavior in my guild. Sometimes this kinda bad behavior came attached to a really good player, and that caused a nightmare for a GM. Do you listen to the portion of a guild that wanted that player /gkicked, or do you put up with the bad behavior and try to mentor and improve the player?
I realize this anecdotal argument takes this whole controversy over streaming down to minimal scale, but my real point is that the maternal and paternal feelings that Vanilla Veterans have for WoW runs deeper than simple nostalgia, and some of those old school players feel that Streamers subvert and escalate the kind of problems that we witnessed in the Vanilla community.
And—Seriously?—Do you really want to use the modifier “mature” in a discussion of Streamers?
I say again: What Classic needs is not No Streaming, Classic just needs better Streamers.
I’m actually just annoyed that because last night during the stress test shutdown, they went all out on the Alliance side but didn’t do didly for the Horde side, as I was leveling Horde on stress.
That’s the only thing that kinda irked me so far. I get it, the streamers are mostly Alliance, but share the fun/love.
You know what, that is fair honestly. There are certainly those who are on the bandwagon because its whats popular. There are certainly those who legit are passionate about it though.
Very true! Selfishness is honestly a huge factor with why some are bad mouthed on these forums. But a lot of them don’t need classic to make money. Like for example sodapoppin, hes a great streamer and he doesn’t need classic. he wants it and wants to see it thrive.
If they’re going to give people beta invites to try to promote the game, give one to Chuck Norris. Go ahead, tell him he’s playing badly and see what happens. I haven’t watched any WoW streams yet but I would totally watch a Chuck Norris beta stream.
To be honest that is true though most people know Blizzard favorites the Alliance. Also who knows, maybe the 29th will be the hordes day. I personally missed a nice chunk of the streams sadly. So that is actually new info to me, so thank you.
