Why all the ret hate?

Just wondering if it’s some sort of inside joke I don’t know about. Anyone who plays ret knows it’s probably high low tier barely breaking mid tier (with a full thanos pve set) right now in arenas. The 8.2 changes will only bump it to consistent mid tier at most to be honest.

Idk It’s Weird. I’m Out Here Saying Yeah 30 Second Wings? LOL! Purge Freedom.
I Think The People Who Complain Are The Same Ones That Think Greater Pyro Should Be Removed! Just Line It.

Because there’s no middle ground with it, either you use your neurones and react to ret’s only win condition and then beat them easily or you just get stomped for trying to tank it. People are lazy these days and just want to tank it.

(and it doesn’t help there was a clown ret who made a thread about pve gear being fine and kept it going for days, despite just how hated pve gear currently is)

it’s ret players. they engender the hatred.

Mostly bad (no offense ofc) players who don’t understand how to counter it who feel the need to complain about something to justify why they’re losing games all the time. It’s the same every season with classes who punish wasting your cds.

Ret in arenas don’t really bother me. Its just how rediculously overpowered paladins in general are in 1on1 situations. Similar to bm, its just a braindead spec that allows inferior players to smash good players just based off easy mechanics.

I feel like some of yall are mad late on 1v1 being stupid.

Since MoP 1v1 has been terrible. Wotlk was the last time duels were thoroughly enjoyable and its downhill from there

Lol that was only one day, and it got so many bites. I’m so proud of that post.

Hilariously though, I wasn’t even wrong.

Lol but this is the case for a lot of classes at different points? Rogues throughout history lol… Mace stun rogues in tbc with all their CDs? Dks in wrath?

Seriously the ret meme is entertaining though :joy: I’ll admit right now they’re kinda deserving of it but there are a lot of worse cases through history

oh man :what:

Has ret ever even been in a tournament setting ? Successfully ? Genuinely curious. If it’s ever been considered top tier.

Ret pops up in Cupid, Arms/Ret, Ret/Destro and a few other weird comps every once in a great while in a tournament setting. But a Ret comp is usually picked as a counter and then subsequently counter picked once again by the enemy team. All in all it doesn’t see much play, because after a series of swaps the Ret comps usually lose or swap comps anyways.

So basically never lol. Been playing since the start of wrath. I don’t personally remember them at the top of anything. post pretty much just confirms everyone is a bunch of babies for atleast 9-10 years now ? Lol.

Avengeylne is one of the few consistent Ret players in the Blizzcon brackets and I don’t believe he has ever won. It’s countered pretty hard by good caster comps.

So yeah… basically never lol.

During late legion there were a few Ret Arms Rsham / Monk teams in tournaments and they did kinda well. When ABC won Blizzcon they also had a ret pally called Cara in their roster but he never saw much play.

Can’t remember any other instances off the top of my head, though I’m sure they’ve seen some play in smaller tournys.

I honestly can’t remember if any rets were played in tournaments in wotlk but it seems like if ret was used in a tournament at all it would’ve been then? rogue/ret/priest was a t1 ladder comp at the time but I’ve never really followed tournaments very much.

If NA didn’t have brain lag we would have already figured out ret sub rogue is a S tier comp like it is in EU. literally 10 + rets i think in the top 100 in eu queing that comp. sap off of every hoj kind of gross.

Uhh… the highest pally (not even Ret) is at spot 282 on the EU ladder. Where exactly do you see 10 Rets in the top 100? :joy:
