Why all the haste gear for resto shammy?

Hi All

Wondering if I just have really bad luck, but last 20 pieces of gear from vault, quests, drops, armaments, etc. all have high haste on them, even when Restoration is selected as loot. (great for my off spec).

Are you experiencing the same? Should I just leave elemental loot on, and forget restoration loot?

Stats do not discriminate by spec? You’re just getting unlucky, but since int > everything for rsham it’s not actually as bad as it seems since you just want highest ilvl on everything

that’s the answer, but some of us would be happy with more haste. i’m at like 78% mastery and would love to switch some to haste since i basically only do m+ and have no throughput issues. (stat weights just aren’t that clear-cut for healers.)

some shamans like to stack haste for high M+ bc it helps with dps.

I wouldn’t stack Haste, but I try to have ~10%. The Lt power for Haste is always my go-to, and 20% is pretty decent. I prio Verse > Crit, and I’ll take some Haste when available.

Personal taste. Mastery > Vers = Crit > Haste
Looks like the best Domination gear has enough haste to where I focus my stats on non-Domination pieces.

What your getting Haste gear. All I have been getting is Vers gear… Oh course I don’t have much luck when it comes to good drops on the game anyways. RNG hates me so much.

Thanks for the info. Guess pray to the RNG gods.

Loot for Vault od Chests or whatever doesnt take into consideration secondary stats, only primary stats. Because really you might need some haste as Restoration Shaman.

That only affects trinkets and weapons. All other items can be used for all specs in your class.

I would recommend doing at least 4 dungeon at the highest difficutly you can so you will haver 2 option on reset day.

I just can’t run 2 % haste in mythic + 10 s . I’ve had people die due to such slow cast times . Just boosting it to 7-8% feels a little better even if only .1 second improvement . Idk I think I’m going to try to increase it some more , I prefer the play style . I was at 22 vers , 24 crit 2 % haste but I’m going to try to run more haste if I can get the gear . I think I can sacrifice some vers for more haste and mastery . . For raiding thats a whole nother thing .

Not sure where we’ll end up stat allocation-wise by end of 9.1 but 100% Mastery 20 Vers 20 Crit and 10-15 Haste sounds nice

The issue with Mastery is its value is dependent on how low a target’s HP is, and that’s not a great place to be in. Crit is great with Tidal Waves + Healing Surge which is used a LOT in M+, and helps recover mana depending on the heal. Versatility is always active and provides a lot of utility.

High end M+ Haste is incredibly valuable b/c it helps DPS which is necessary. M15 is doesn’t really matter, but pushing 17+ it helps. I’ve prioritized Verse > Crit > Haste, but now I’m pushing M18+ and slowly incorporating more Haste to help DPS as I acquire the gear.

Thanks, good to know. Will try more haste higher I push. Just get short of mana pretty quick , but getting better.

Fast cast times are the bomb. Give it a shot!

there’s no hard and fast rule. you really have to play around with it and see what feels good and works well for you.

Well considering haste/vers are BiS stats in m+ it probably felt pretty awful to have 2% lol

Right now I’m full Crit and Vers with no Mastery and 10% Haste.

So far I’m healing Mythic+ very good at 15-16 with no need to stop drinking. My team never wipes for lack of healing or OOM.

From now on I’m gonna go for more Versatility and add some Mastery but I dont think that Haste is gonna make that much of an impact on my performance to get all the 20.

Glad to hear that. The last few upgrades I’ve gotten took Crit/Vers and added Hate/Mastery, but I assumed with a 20 ilvl difference it HAD to still be better.

At M17+ your DPS contribution starts to matter, and Haste helps with that. M15-16 most groups can outgear already at 235’ish; some groups can easily carry a 17 too. Kyrian rsham is meta for M+ b/c of the DPS output. Maybe once everyone is wearing 250 the healer contribution won’t matter, but until then, it does.

There’s a substantial difference between KSM and timing 20s.
