OP, this hasn’t been my experience, if anything since I’ve had a guild and have had more like-minded people joining my guild, it’s been the exact opposite for me, I feel a lot more at peace, and not saying there isn’t some disagreement with people, even my officers from time to time, it’s mostly respectful these days. But I recently became Christian, and I can tell you right now there are websites that I’ve been banned from speaking at all simply for having my faith, I don’t really experience that on wow. In fact, I think it’s been quite good for me, as dare I say I haven’t got myself into too much trouble on here since my decision, though certainly did slip out a few inflammatory comments that I then had to humbly apologize for and remove.

I do apologize if some of what I am about to say that some people may find inflammatory, but please know that if you read this, that what I am saying is just purely my opinion, but before I get into it I just wanted to say OP that I am very sorry for the loss of your mother, I know that when mine passes one day I will feel much more alone in this world.

It’s not the sort of place where you make a name for yourself. Instead you’re expecting to kiss the shoes of those above you; not do something new that gets attention.

I admit, as a GM one of my officers is always saying ‘Hail there, our mighty glorious leader!’ and I admit it’s so refreshing to read such words, that finally there is someone on this earth that understands that even standing in my presence is an honor. To be fair, for me standing in the presence of some of them one day would be an equal honor to me.

Overall I am very disappointed in my experience from seeing some screenshots of stuff people have said about me on Discord servers in the WoW community and being told by other streamers to never talk to them again for no apparent reason.

I have had hundreds of people do this when I embraced my faith, a lot of people think I’ve rejected all science and reason in favor of a fairy-tale…so I’ve become used to it. Yet for every single person that has rejected me, when I write down the amount of people that have accepted me and my faith, it’s been really good. Ironically my church actually does believe in the science of climate change much more than I do, but that’s a case in point.

My mom died last year and all I kept thinking about was all the time I put into the game, streaming, and making YouTube videos that I could have spent with her. I’ve also considered all the years of time I could have spent instead doing something that’d improve my real life situation.

Don’t live your life with regrets, let me tell you what happened to me when I tried to improve my situation in 2017, I got a job for a little while, some paid work, so was really onto something, but then shortly afterwards my relationship went south, ended up in a very insecure and unstable environment for two years, then I finally got of it. Then in 2019 once my living situation finally settled down and I found somewhere more stable to live, I tried volunteering to better myself and gain skills, but in reality that organization was using people purely for slave labor to cut costs, told them I was sick they seemed cool with it, but by the time I got back those muppets told me actually no, they expected more from me, so no point me coming back. As a result, I’m full with bitterness and don’t care if they lose government funding as they were real pricks tbh, but I’m leaving judgement to God, and thank God conservative governments that are cutting public service to the bone is in charge at the moment, they treat people like crap so in my opinion they deserve to burn, anyway that’s nothing to do with you but the point is this, I’ve learned that when you try to ‘improve your situation’ there are dark forces in this world that are going to want to exploit you and take advantage of it, so I know this is unchristian for me to say, but f#$# that, you deserve better. So don’t worry about having spent your life not trying to improve anything, if you want to improve your life now, that’s the only thing that matters, but just be wary of humans that use clever speeches and other nonsense. Strange though since I embraced my faith I’ve become more assertive and more willing to stand up for myself.

As to Blizzard and the state of WoW I am disappointed that they let go of all those employees from the company a while back.

Well this is just my opinion, while I am not going to point fingers at anyone in particular, I do recall one certain person that worked for Blizzard jump in on the trollish bandwagon, for instance there was one poster that was complaining about getting killed in Zandalar and not being able to get back to his corpse quick enough, and some people in the community said ‘stop dying’, and the spokesman said something along the lines of ‘that’s pretty good advice.’

Now, to me that’s outright unprofessional, personally I am quite forgiving to a lot of people that make trollish comments like that on here, to just stop dying, play better, that kind of thing, coming from the community that’s just simple banter. But when you are in any sort of position of REAL leadership, as harsh as this sounds, I would hold that person to higher standards. For instance, there are only three acceptable reactions that a leader should give to such a complaint about someone dying all the time, 1-remaining silent, as if you got nothing nice to say, doing nothing is of course the optimal path, 2-making some kind of statement, that this is the early days of the expansion or whatever, and they are working on fixes to make it easier to get gear to deal with mobs in the world and so on, or 3-actually give advice on how to not die, by suggesting that there are lots of great links like icy veins and so on, to help that person. To me these are the correct responses from someone in a position of leadership. Now many of those people have moved onto Bioware and other game companies, and while people getting fired might not be nice, if I was in Blizzard’s position, than if you think about it, you can’t really have people that aren’t holding themselves to the highest professional standards making snide remarks that upset the community.

I mean I know it sounds harsh almost hypocritical but I’ve always taken it for granted that we expect more from people in leadership than the general riffraff of society, so I do think that some of those employees need to take accountability, please note I am not saying that I could have done the job better than they could as I know I’m still a very flawed being that probably would have made the passing remark to that person to just ‘stop dying all the time then’ but I’m not in a position of leadership where higher standards of how you communicate to people are expected.

This isn’t something I can really explain in words, it’s just something you feel in your heart. While I accept that people in the high up positions are still human that have their own mental health crap going on and so on, I don’t know what this is, this has just always been the case that people in certain positions in society it’s just been taken for granted, that you expect them to be more diplomatic and polite with people, even if inside they might want to smash that idiots head through concrete, they are simply not allowed to express such emotion, it’s just not something you can do if you are a leader in a position high up.

And by the way, about streaming, you are going to get people that hate you in fact 99% of streamers are hated by half the population… Haven’t found anyone that hates NobbeltheNoble though, but that’s because he has a very pleasant soothing voice and everyone loves story time…

Did you stream everyday appropriately at consistent times? Did you even make an effort to connect with others? Communicate?

I browsed your twitch and youtube accounts and found very little. No past broadcasts, no highlights, nothing especially on twitch.

You can’t just see everyone else streaming and decide “well I’m gonna do this now and become famous on my first stream!”.

I’m sorry to hear about your mother but video games should NEVER take priority over real life.

Some people are not meant to do things. Everything isn’t for everybody, I do not stream, I wanna say it’s very akin to regular YouTube, to which I do my own thing and have a successful channel doing ASMR. But it’s not for everyone, it was something I worked for and at times didn’t know how long it would take but knew I was good at it and garnered an audience.

I’m not saying you didn’t work hard, but what I will say if you’re mad about not finding a successful streaming career because wow players didn’t support you it was something you did or didn’t do. I after doing my thing for awhile made friends naturally with a much bigger channel, and right away they were like you need to do this this this and this, and stop doing this, and change that, and I thought I was doing fine lol, and then I saw immediate results. But you can’t force yourself on people, I would say sucking up is seen for what it is, and organic friendships you form will authentically try to help you.

This is another thing too you HAVE to be consistent, I’m in college, and when YouTube wasn’t making money for me I did my thing, and I still stayed up and edited and had my posts scheduled for my peak times the next day.

Can i your gold if you dont give it to the other guy
