Lion symbol represents power, authority, lordship. Just like real alpha male lions do in their pride.
Lions would unironically fit in perfectly in southern westfall. Savannahs are categorized as grassy-woodlands, which would describe south-eastern westfall pretty well. And westfall just so happens to border a huge rainforest (STV), just like the Savannahs of Africa borders rainforests.
If anything, Lions of the Eastern Kingdom has probably just gone extinct due to human expansion.
Was removed with Cata.
Donât forget that the people who founded Stormwind came from the north of the EK, too.
Itâs no stranger than the national animal of Scotland.
Or the Welsh flag.
Or the Isle of Man flag.
A wolf would make more sense. Elwynn is full of wolves, and Varianâs beast form was a wolf.
I like the idea that :
A long time ago, ancient Humans were struggling to survive. A Lion Loa came by and helped them survive for a few generations. Brought them furs and meats. Helped lead them to safe places to settle. Helped keep wild beasts away from their settlements.
Eventually, the Humans turned around and killed the Lion Loa. Some Warrior or Hunter killed him to display their strength. And then the people forgot why they liked lions in the first place.
Which is why some Trolls donât like Humans. They remember the Lion Loa who used to be nice and helpful being murdered by Humans.
Because the lion is the mightiest, noblest, and proudest in the Animal kingdom.
The mightiest animal for the mightiest kingdom in all of Azeroth.
Do you literally never get tired of painting the Alliance as pure evil monsters and the Horde as poor innocent victims?
Terrible fan-fiction.
I was actually thinking about posting that in your thread you made in the Story Forum, about other non Troll races worshiping Loa.
If there was some Lion Loa in ancient times that the Humans worshipped long ago, that would help explain why they have lion imagery every where.
It would make sense that the Humans may have had a relationship with Lions that existed at the time, and then turned around and wiped them out as their culture changed. Humanity has wiped out animals IRL.
We all know thatâs not the reason why you came up with that fan-fiction.
In reality, you just want to demonize the Humans as an evil race that turned on their own protector and saviour, while praising the Trolls for remaining âtrueâ to their old ways.
Lions have traditionally been a symbol of royalty, the whole King of the Jungle thing. It was a no brainer pick.
This reminds me of that South Park episode on the history channel
Lions arenât real. They were all murdered in the time bewteen the end of WC3 and the opening of original wow, and replaced with imperfect automata whose internal functions almost perfectly resemble a biological life form by SI:7 as spy bots.
What if the ancient Arathi worshipped a great lion Loa?
Males also guard their territory, kill hyenas on sight, and will assist with hunts when theyâre after larger more difficult prey.
It was a typesetting error. The team was going to be the Detroit Loins but someone transposed the i and the o when printing the first poster.
This whole post came straight out of my tuckus. Pay no heed to my maniacal ramblings. This has been a public service announcement sponsored by the voices in my closet.
Bobcats screaming ainât no picnic either.
How do you know they werenât hunted to extinction in the Eastern Kingdoms?
The RPG lorebooks established extant lion populations in the Eastern Kingdoms, especially in the Badlands.
And no, I didnât know that off the top of my head. I had to look it up.
