WHY do people complain about everything? Games go down for maintenance it is the circle of life for online games. Are you new to online gaming?

Wasn’t wow having troubles like that around 08 because I’ve seen a couple of cheevos for the OP around that time.

I’m pretty sure there was down time like that in 09 when I started.
So 4 hours ain’t nothing.

And it doesn’t take an hour to reboot a server but we’re still used to an hour of server maintenance. It is what it is.

they got hacked this weekend so they have extended to put an authenticator on their servers

The term ‘hot’ in hotfix mean it’s done while servers are running. For example, hot swapping a hard drive means you change out a hard drive without shutting off the computer. So a hotfix is done while the servers are online.

Of course they patch things… but when do they ever patch anything for 4 hours unless it’s a pre-patch or other large content? Hasn’t happened for years.

omg the memories … , before you could check on activision forums to check if anyone else was having issues , just waited it out and hoped it would just magically start working …friends would call and tell you theyve been playing all day , and your just sitting there on an error screen lol

They still have longer maintenance periods from time to time, its far from unheard of. I’d argue Hotfix more implies an unplanned patching/fix as apposed to having to do while the servers are live, though it’s probably wrong by definition, so I’ll cede that part.
